As you know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children, that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory. 1 Thessalonians 2.11-12

It weighs upon the saved the responsibility to exhort and comfort the new converts. Just as the Lord used many to teach us our first steps in this wonderful path, it is now up to us pay back what we received, welcoming our new brothers and sisters with the same love and care with which we were welcomed. We ought to instruct them to walk in a worthy manner as to not be an offense to anyone (Mathew 18.7).

Lessons taught in a clear and loving manner are never forgotten. Time invested in leading someone to understand what it means to walk with the Most High must be reason of great joy, because if that person fails, we do too. If they learn and serve God faithfully and fearfully, we will be credited with a reward. That is why it is so good to be used by Him.

When preaching to new converts we must be patient and wise as a father is to his son. If anything we do causes them to stumble we will pay a high price, because such behavior may lead them from the path of Truth into damnation. We need the Lord’s help so that we will never be a stumbling block to anyone. The Most High rewards those who help His people.

We must comfort others as the Almighty comforts us (2 Corinthians 1.4). Just as you were set free from fears and wrong desires, new-comers into the Kingdom of God will experience the same freedom. Be always faithful to the instructions given by the Lord in His Word. Problems may differ from one person to the other, but the anointing that is upon you is mighty to destroy every yoke (Isaiah 10.27). Do everything in the fear of God.

The goal is to teach the novice in the Gospel to walk worthy of the heavenly Father. They ought to learn to use faith to solve their problems, not to owe anything but love (Romans 13.8), and to understand that Christian affection is not an invitation to sin. Those who diligently and faithfully serve the Almighty will never put the good Name to shame, which is also called upon us.

Help the new convert understand that his calling goes beyond a religion swap. It is meant to make him a participant in the Kingdom of the Lord and of His glory; therefore, a behavioral transformation is necessary. Besides that, he should attend church services regularly and, if possible, because of the prosperity that will come, avoid the temptation of buying a country house or a beach house, in order not to miss out on fellowship time on Sundays at church.

We are all letters of Christ to the lost (2 Corinthians 3.3) and, therefore, ought to live according to the Scriptures. Both the minister of the Word and its disciple must respect each other as angels from God. Never allow yourself to be taken by wrong desires. Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation (Matthew 26.41).

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

Comforting God! We must help new believers to walk worthy of the Gospel. Our mission is to exhort and comfort our new brothers and sisters in Christ in how to appropriately walk in the faith.

As we once learned to walk in a worthy manner before the Lord, we must also teach it to them clearly so that the lessons are never forgotten. May we be patient with everyone as parents are with their children. Help us in this important mission.

You have called us into Your Kingdom and into Your glory, so we cannot consider there is any other job as important as this one. May we only use the comfort with which we were comforted. Then, they too will be living letters of Christ.
