If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:1

The verse above was recorded in the Scriptures under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, therefore it is the truth. We know that Adam’s sin killed us spiritually, which means that we were separated from God. But now we have learned that we were raised with Christ when He was resurrected. This was done on behalf of all mankind and takes effect when the person receives Jesus as Savior and Lord of his or her life.

Let us meditate on this subject because it is very serious! The Son of God, the divine Word that has always existed with the Father who is the Creator of all things, came to this world and stripped himself of all His glory to take our place and die for us. Upon receiving our sin, Jesus was separated from God and died spiritually. So when He was brought back to life He rose and we rose with Him

Not only did we rise with Him, but we also sat together in heavenly places in Him (Ephesians 2:6). In order for this to come true God had to make a tremendous work. However, what have we done about it? Was it all written for some reason or was it something fictitious that Paul created? After all, have we or have we not been made alive with Christ? Do we or don’t we have the right to reestablish fellowship with the Father?

The truth is that today we can walk with God without any hindrance because the power of death no longer has dominion over us. We are members of the divine family and by making use of the Name of Jesus, we have the right to put the power of God into action in our favor and on behalf of those who seek His help or of those who the Father wants us to bless. We must not limit our faith to creeds and precepts invented by men.

The Lord commands us to seek heavenly things, where Jesus is seated. He who seeks shall find, but he who is not willing to obey the commandment of the Father will behave as if none of this were true. Our obedience will make a difference! If we don’t obtain more from God, it is because we haven’t sought what belongs to us.

The Scriptures say that we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Have you ever pondered on what Christ does today and what the heavenly places are like? Friend, when we accept the Gospel we start living there. We should walk in the newness of life given by the Son of God. What will you do about it?
