Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill. And to Your tabernacle.

Psalm 43.3

Because David lived before Jesus, he had to ask God for his light and truth. Today, however, these things are already available to us, so that we may be guided in the right path. With them, we can go to the holy hill of the Lord and to his tabernacle, and we will not lack any power we need to fight against evil forces and overcome them.

King David had at his disposal the weapons necessary to overcome the evil forces that had risen against Israel and him; so he would pray, go to battle and, with God’s help, he would come out victorious. Today we do not have to do this type of prayer, because God has already sent us what we need to overcome all evil.

The Lord Jesus brought grace and truth, through which we have at our disposal the tools that help us stand against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, and against spiritual hosts of wickedness (Ephesians 6.11,12). When we read the Bible or hear the preaching of the Gospel, we receive what David was asking the Lord in Psalm 43. All we need to do is act on what is ministered to us through the Word of God.

We do not lack anything to be led into victory. That is what means to be guided by the Spirit of God and, consequently, to be his child. What you understand when you read the Scriptures or hear the message of salvation is everything you need to overcome the devil’s attacks that come upon us. Therefore, you are already at the holy hill of the Lord, equipped to fight; you just need to stand strong and firm, and you will be victorious.

Now that you know how to receive the light and the truth (thus you are ready to fight), stop hesitating. The understanding you have received is essential to face the forces of darkness and overcome them. So command the evil that is disturbing you to leave your life and be destroyed. The devil will not resist if, in the name of Jesus, you take this position.

You can dwell in the tabernacle of the Lord and receive all revelations from the Word. Rest assured that you will not lack the power to win your battles. Before the Calvary, it was not possible to live in such place, but now, being a member of the body of Christ, you are seated in the heavenly places.

David needed to be blessed with these two virtues from God in order to be victorious, but you are already in Christ, dwelling in him, living in him. With the Lord, you can and should have success over all temptations that come upon you; after all, you are a child of God, created for his glory.
