Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. John 15.4

The Scriptures teach us the formula for us to be used by the Lord. Many times, the Christian knows that he must do God’s work, but does not know how. Now, with this declaration from the lips of the Master, it is clear that the secret is to abide in Jesus. In the Most High’s work, nobody should be unproductive, for only by producing much fruit that we will truly be His disciples.

When someone abides in Jesus, he knows the rights he has in Christ and that he can use His Name against every evil in order to see the divine power operate in his favor. It is in such a way that we will do the same works as the Savior did in the days He was on earth (Jo 14.12). As followers of His work, we must set free those who are possessed by the forces of darkness, leading them to be made children of God.

The Savior compares us to the branches of a vine, which do not produce by themselves. But when we are connected to it, we produce the fruit of the vine. The vine needs the branches so that its mission is accomplished, and thus, operating Christians are considered essential parts in the true Vine. No Christian needs to beg to be useful, but he must allow himself to be used.

You will only be able to give fruit if you are truly in Christ. Outside of Him, there is no possibility of good coming out of a human being. The Master Himself was clear when He declared that without Him, man can produce absolutely nothing (Jo 15.5). Therefore, every Christian should be firm in his determination to be an extension of the divine power. The world waits for the children of God to fulfill their duties.

Why not abide in Christ, if this is the best thing that we could do? Now, this is not an option, for there is no other source of good from where we can have good things. There are only two fountains: good and evil. If we are not connected to good, we are connected to evil, which will lead us to ruin. It is necessary, therefore, to be in Jesus in order to have life fully.

Being in Christ means to rest in the Being that governs everything and sustains them by His power. Whoever ignores the opportunity of being connected to the Lord makes the worst decision of his life and becomes a servant of the enemy, dominated by the forces of evil. For this person, there is no peace, not even in times of joy; only much suffering.

The children of God are always victorious, for they do not lack power or direction. The eternal God, Almighty Lord, is their Shield. What decision will you make: will you let yourself be led by the Lord or by Satan’s lies? Jesus came to give life abundantly, but the devil came to steal, kill, and destroy (Jo 10.10).

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

Most High God! Thank You for the opportunity of abiding in You and being able to share Your nature. Thus, we can be used to fulfill Your commandments, which will fulfill us in all things.

Abiding in Jesus, we will have all our rights recognized, and we will live far away from Satan’s oppressions. Certainly, we are in a great advantage by not serving the devil, for he only brings suffering. With You it is a different story.

You are the Vine, and we are the branches. We will only produce fruit if we abide in You. We are incapable o accomplishing any mission by ourselves, even if it is a small one. Certainly, the best decision is to be a branch of this blessed Vine.
