10/04/2016 - WHAT HAPPENED TO ABRAHAM?

And it came to pass, when he was close to entering Egypt, that he said to Sarai his wife, “Indeed I know that you are a woman of beautiful countenance.  Genesis 12:11

Could it be that Abraham was filled with fear, and because of that, he only told part of the truth? We will only know this God reveals it to us one day,. The situation was more serious than we can imagine. In fact, Sarai was his sister from his father´s side and there was a great possibility that the Egyptians would kill him to stay with her. What the patriarch did teaches us that we must not tell everything about us, but only that which is necessary to fulfill the divine plan.

Be sensible to the Spirit of God in order to follow His directions, but never lie, because if you do so, you will be disconnected from the Lord. Now, if someone asks you a question that does not concern them, tell them that you will not speak about that for a certain reason. Thus, you will not be lying, for nobody can demand that you reveal something that is private. Now, if it is something that offended someone, tell them everything and ask for forgiveness as well.

He who goes down to wander in a land where the fear of the Lord is not present, sooner or later, will be in trouble. As to the patriarch, Egypt symbolized sin, and as the heir to the promises, he could have prayed and God would have worked the necessary miracle. However, there are situations we go through in life that, after the Lord has given us deliverance, we are to come out from it better than when we entered it. Those who follow the orientations of God will always be kept safe by His hand.

God will protect you if you fulfill the mission you were assigned. If any threat comes close, do not be influenced by the appearances: remain firm in the promise of the Lord and face the situation with peace and happiness, for He is faithful. He will never forsake you if you put your faith in His Word. Then, the “pharaoh” can try all sorts of things, because if you don’t owe him anything, his intentions will never prevail over you.

David had the anointing upon him, but he suffered a frenetic persecution from Saul. Since David trusted the Lord, none of the king´s spears struck him. Later, although he had 3 thousand soldiers running through every corner of Israel, Saul was never able to put his hands on the son of Jesse. He who has his faith in God and makes use of it will never be caught or imprisoned by the enemy. The Lord is our Refuge and Fortress, a very present help in trouble (psalm 46:1).

The same thing happened to other servants of the Most High in the past; they were mistreated, persecuted and tortured, but they did not give in to the threats of Nebuchadnezzar or to what they suffered. The story repeats itself in all generations, but the divine operations repeat themselves as well. Therefore, do not fear if you have to go through a valley, for God will be with you. Even if the scenario points that there is no way out, don’t believe in it, for Jesus is the Door.

In the Scriptures, there are beautiful accounts in which the servants of the Most High marched firmly towards the fire, or another type of death, singing praises to the eternal and faithful God. It is to happen in some place today and if you belong to the Lord, you should not tremble nor fear. However, remember that you are being guided by God, and He will do that which is necessary for your cause.

In Christ, with love,

God of Abraham!  Thank You for guiding and teaching us the good way so that we don’t stumble. We don’t want to be close to the spiritual Egypt, because, if we go into where the children of God must not be, we will have problems.

Make us wise so that we don’t speak when it is inconvenient. We have to speak the truth, and worry about not causing any loss to Your plan. Give us sensibility to feel Your touch, and thus, not move away nor disconnect from You.

Our wanderings must be towards the Land of the Promises, Your holy Gospel. If we are under any threat one day, You will deliver us. We are grateful for You keeping us safe wherever we go, as long as we do Your will. Amen!
