He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil.

Isaiah 33:15

In order for you to live with the Lord you have to walk righteously and speak uprightly. God’s servants must never lie or deceive anyone because if they do, they will receive the gain of oppressions. Furthermore, the saved must never accept bribes, heed the flesh, or say yes to the offers made by Satan, for such things will take them out of the divine presence.

One of the basic requirements for someone to have God on his side is to walk in righteousness. We act this way when the fear of the Lord fills our heart; when we refuse dishonest profits, a forbidden pleasure, or when we don’t take advantage of someone’s naivety. However, those who act as if sin was not something evil cannot walk with the Most High, and as result, from time to time, they end up falling into error.

He who speaks according to the revelation of the Word of God acts righteously. For this person, there is no oppression or temptation that will overcome him. Even when they are betrayed, they don’t betray; having been stolen, they do not steal and neither do they ever pay evil with evil. He who speaks with dignity need not fear the traps of the wicked because with a simple prayer he disables the ability of the enemy to harm him (Isaiah 54:17).

There isn’t the slightest possibility for a man or woman of God to lie because truth enfolds them and they take pleasure in seeing the Lord’s hand acting in their favor. The gain of oppressions will never be welcomed by the saved ones, so they will gladly decline huge profits that derive from sinful practices. As a matter of fact, the people who belong to God are the best kind of people who have ever set foot on Earth.

Bribery blinds, enslaves and destroys man’s capacity to resist the forces of evil, and such forces operate in all areas of the lives of those who act unlawfully. Now, that which is accursed should never be a part of your life. Your spiritual battle is even fiercer when you receive an offer of Satan in a moment of weakness or need. The devil tried to tempt Jesus, suggesting that He should kneel down and worship him (Matthew 4:9).

Another approach is not to listen to the calls of the flesh. Satan lies all the time; after all, there is no truth in him (John 8:44). He might, for example, tell someone that he or she has the right to seek someone younger because his/her spouse has aged. The wicked one goes to any lengths to take the saved out of divine presence. For this reason, many miss the beautiful and holy shine of the Gospel.

Never accept an invitation of the devil. Do not change your eternal and complete happiness in Jesus for a lie that will take you to the lake of brimstone, prepared by Satan and his angels, where the eternal fire will burn throughout eternity (Matthew 25:41).

In Christ with love,
