if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

We have to be certain that we are part of the people of God.  Without that conviction, we will not understand what belongs to us in Christ and will not lay hold of His blessings for us.  The fact that we accepted Jesus is essential for us to operate our rights in Him. However, if we surrender to Him, but continue to live as if we were lost, we will not have the necessary faith to claim that which is ours.

Being Christian – in the likeness of Christ – we are addressed and called by the Holy Name of the Lord, therefore, we must take up our place in Jesus in faith.  Then when a need arises, practicing the conditions in 2 chronicles 7:14 we will be answered by the Father.  The first is that we humble ourselves, which means to be submissive to Him.  This attitude will do us great good.  He who humbles himself shall be exalted (1 Peter 5:6).

The next step is to pray.  This is more than to open our mouth and list our desires.  The true prayer is a dialogue where we tell the Lord what we have learned in and from the Word, the bad things that happen to us and what are our needs.  Be watchful and alert during your cry, because deep in our hearts we will notice if there is anything wrong with us.  Then we must only confess and decide to change, for God will do the rest.

The third step is to seek the face of the Lord, which is His Word revealed.  As you understand it, you will see that your problems will be more readily and easily solved, for faith will enter and rule your heart.  Therefore, it does not matter if the challenge or adversity seems greater than your power, all Word that comes from God is laden with authority and brings with it the power to fulfill what it says (Isaiah 55:11).

The Lord speaks of conversion, change of direction, where we cease and desist of our sinful practices, which separate us from Him, and we take our place among the redeemed.  Without conversion, there can be no working of divine power.  The person may even have been blessed in a situation, or healed, or delivered from a negative circumstance, but they need to be converted: to be born again.  Without this experience nobody can see or enter into the Kingdom of God (John 3:3).

The good thing is that God hears from Heaven, which means we were accepted and our blessing has been given us.  These are the stages in life with Christ, which must be climbed; if not, we will just be like the religious, which spend all their time crying and asking for mercy, but prevent themselves from being blessed.  You show if you have really been born again by the way you live your life. 

The promise says that our sins will be forgiven.  It is wonderful to have no condemnation over our lives.  This way, we will be able to pray and receive answers to our pleas and petitions.  The best of the pardon of sins is that we will not be declared guilty and are declared citizens of Heaven.
