23/11/2016 - WHEN JACOB LISTENED TO GOD’S VOICE

Then God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob!” And he said, “Here I am.” Genesis 46.2

Joseph, the son of Jacob who became the first minister of Egypt, explained to Pharaoh that when God speaks twice, it is because He really wants to fulfill something (Gen 41.32). Now, it was his father that listened to the Lord say his name twice, so he should ready himself, because the divine plan cannot wait. How many times will the Most High have to speak to you so that you pay attention to Him? There are many who no longer hear God’s voice.

Jacob had seen the divine glory at Bethel, when he ran from his brother Esau. Then, he made a covenant with the Lord. However, it seemed like this covenant was not being fulfilled, because Jacob heard that a wild beast had killed his son Joseph. But when he heard that his son lived, his spirit was revived. God’s promises never fail!

In Laban’s house, his father-in-law, Jacob had many experiences with God that served him well for the rest of his life. Laban tried to disturb the divine plan in Jacob’s life ten times, for when his son-in-law started to prosper, he changed his salary. However, Jacob prayed to God, and the Lord showed him how to make the sheep be speckled or not. So the Lord strengthened him.

Whenever you understand the Father is calling you to do something, present yourself. Never discard any vision that the Lord may give you about His work. When the day comes that you must execute something important for Him, do not be desperate; assume the challenge with joy and faith. Then, assume the position you should have in your life. It is very good to learn with the Master.

Nowadays, we have great opportunities to be recognized as the Most High’s partners. This will undoubtedly put our names in the annals of eternity. Science was multiplied, people are open to learn new things, and therefore, we can lead them to the Gospel, which is the answer to all our needs. But pay attention: we cannot allow the enemy to lead us towards sin, or else we will be disqualified.

The glory of the latter house will be greater than the former (Hg 2.9). Therefore, always obey the Lord to fulfill anything He asks you. This will make you someone very special to Him, and for all eternity. Strive to be great in the presence of the Most High, and then, when the end of times comes, you will receive from His hands the due reward for your participation.

What happened to Jacob and Joseph, as well as all the characters in the Old Testament, was part of the salvation plan, which took us away from the powers of darkness and moved us to Jesus’ Kingdom. We have suffered part of the Lord’s afflictions. He is preparing us for things that are yet to come. Undoubtedly, when they come, we will be ready for them. Then, the work will be done in the way that He desires.

In Christ, with love,

God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! May we not need to be called more than once to fulfill Your orders. May we present ourselves with willingness and pleasure to obey You.

It is good to participate in Your redemption plan. We know that You would never give us a mission without showing us the right tool. Therefore, we praise Your Name, which is certainly our strongest weapon.

Speak to us in open visions, so that we may see what You have prepared for us to fulfill. We want to be known as obedient servants, who do not measure sacrifices. Thus, we will be used by You in great battles, and all the glory will be Yours.
