And saw among the simple, I perceived among the youths, a young man devoid of understanding. Proverbs 7.7

Those who let the demon of passion enter in their hearts have the same attitudes in any place. The description of the young man devoid of understanding serves for everyone of what may happen to those who do not resist this persuasive spirit. After the charm is gone, those who are dominated by this evil feeling will feel like they are the worst people ever.

In the beginning of the chapter that we are studying, the Most High hardened His words to those He calls as children. The Lord would not say something without purpose nor would he forget to warn about the great dangers of being charmed by passion. Those who refuse to listen, if they have an opportunity to repent later, will weep very much. And more, their shame will never be forgotten.

What is right is to keep the divine Word and obey it. Those who are zealous towards the commandments, live. Those who despise them are spiritually dead. The law of God must be observed as we do with the apple of our eyes, and His ordinances must be kept between our fingers and written in our hearts (Pv 7.3). Everyone who loves his own life should do so.

Wisdom must be considered like a sister and Knowledge like a relative (v. 4), like if they belonged to our family, whom we truly love and with whom we live with pleasure. If we do so, we will be kept from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words (v. 5). As we are guided by Wisdom, the Most High shows us the capacity of seduction that such people have.

From the window of His house, God observes us (v. 6). He sees everything that happens to us and how we are easily deceived and seduced. The heavenly Father sees the immature young man, devoid of understanding, who was captured by the enemy. After he is caught, the young man does not stop and continues walking from one side to another, in the streets of life, trying to find himself with the person that bewitched him.

If this is happening to you, seek divine help immediately. Run to the Lord and confess that you are captive by the dirty spirit of seduction. If you do not do this with urgency, you will fall in the lies of the enemy, and then, it won’t be possible to do anything for you. Seduction is ruthless to those who are charmed by her and surrender to her desires. Yet, the Lord is stronger.

The person dominated by passion does not stop walking from one side to another. He follows the way that the demon shows him, behaves in a ridiculous manner, and gives himself to the devil, who always charges with interest for his “favors”. The immoral person is passionate and restless, and her victim follows her like an ox going to the slaughter (v. 22).
