While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 

Acts 10:44

As a responsible servant, the apostle Peter did not save the anointing at Cornelius’s house. He talked about Jesus’ ministry and finalized saying that the Lord is the judge of the dead and alive. The bad servant, on the contrary, does not deliver to his sheep the real message that the Lord ordained him to preach. We cannot play with salvation, for those who pass away without making things right with the Lord won’t have another opportunity.

When our master returns, those who are alive shall be transformed and the dead will rise; however, all shall present themselves before Christ’s court. If I don’t pass on the divine warning, and if someone is eternally lost because of my omission, I will be held responsible for this loss. On the other hand, if I deliver the message and those who listen refuse to accept it, I shall be free from their blood; if they make things right with the Lord, I shall have fulfilled my obligation a hundred percent.

We must speak the Truth to everyone, preaching the gospel in its fullness, and not waiting for something in return. We don’t have to please the audience, but the One who sent us to preach about this extremely important matter. The truth is the only way to bring complete freedom to people. We must not make of our meetings political reunions or meetings just to raise funds, or some other goal. The house of the Lord must be the house of prayer (Lk. 19:46).

Peter’s message was on the forgiveness of sins. According to him, all the prophets mentioned this event in which the sinners would be freed from their sins. This is the main reason why God sends people to listen to us. Those who change the purpose of the preaching of the gospel commit a huge mistake. It is not good to frustrate the Lord with something that looks like the truth. Those who lead others to repentance make the Lord very glad.

Either in our bodies or in our souls, the work is done through the name of Jesus. When we learn that we have the right to use His name, and that in Him we find the necessary power so that the divine work is done, then things start to happen. When this happens, the lost are saved, the disoriented are reconciled, the sick are healed and the church prospers in every way.

The Holy Spirit was speaking through Peter; while Peter spoke, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those that were listening. When the Holy Spirit falls, all sorts of miracles happen. But we must be under the divine instructions, just like the apostle was, so that the hand of the Almighty one may operate amongst us. No meeting shall be powerless if the hand of the Lord is guiding it. When those who are listening believe in what we preach, the Holy Spirit falls.
