I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet. Revelation 1.10

To be in the Spirit is to be in the best moment of your faith. When this happens, you manage to worship God in the way that you should, and you pray like a giant. It does not matter how long since you were saved, but if you simply obey the commandments. The secret to be in the Lord – who is Spirit – is to do whatever He orders. Those who do not strive to obey the divine orders may think that they are smart, but they act like fools.

Paul, the Apostle, after teaching the brethren in Ephesus how they should prepare themselves for the battles of faith, told them that they should always pray, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints (Eph 6.18). When your prayer is surrounded by the Most High you are heard by Him. When the anointing is over your life, you think and act like Jesus when He was in our midst.

When he was old, the Apostle John was taken to the island of Patmos. However, since he was in the Spirit in the day of the Lord, He managed to hear a loud voice, like of a trumpet. Sometimes, God speaks softly in our hearts; other times, He uses a different way to transmit His will. What is most important is to be in the Spirit, because then, you will be able to listen to whatever He says. Those who live according to what is natural – in the flesh – will never be able to listen to the divine voice.

Seek to be involved with the Lord, listening to His Word and seeking Him in prayer. Whenever you feel joy inside of you, it means that you are being visited by God. At this moment, you are in the Spirit. Then, do not let anything come before you and Him. Besides, be attentive, for He will speak to you. When you understand what God is telling you, it means that you will be ready to be used by Him in whatever is spoken to you.

Paul talked about the great mystery of piety: our God was revealed in flesh, but was justified in the Spirit (1 Tm 3.16). Honestly, I do not understand what this mean, but undoubtedly, it is good and important. If one day the Lord gives me the understanding of what this means, I will pass on the information for my people. Since it is a mystery, the human mind cannot decipher. Only the Most High can give us the revelation.

When John was in the Spirit, he saw a throne that was established in the Heavens. He also saw He who was seated on the Thorne. Whenever we are in the Spirit, we will see many things that our God will show us. If they are not things that we can see with the physical eyes, we will see them with our hearts, for the Lord knows how to transmit His message.

If we are led to the desert, in the Spirit, we will see the side of sin, when the devil gets prepared for battles – both the daily and the final battle. However, the best thing is that John saw the New Jerusalem, the city of the great King. All the divine revelations are important for us, but we must be in the Spirit to understand what we can learn from them.

In Christ, with love,

Omniscient God, if there are things that You do not reveal, it is because we do not have the capacity to understand them. As a loving Father, You will never let us know about something that will not do us good. You will never lead us to make decisions that are contrary to Your will.

John was taken away from his homeland, but not from Your presence. May we never be expelled from our position in Jesus, for if we are in Christ, we will always be on top of all our problems and our needs. The secret to be victorious is to be in You, beloved Lord!

Whether we listen to a loud voice or a soft voice, the only thing that matters is if it is Your voice. Whenever You speak to us, help us to fulfill what You have prepared for us. Then, with our attitudes, we will always give You joy. May Your Name be praised with our obedience!
