But the LORDis with me as a mighty, awesome One. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten.

Jeremiah 20:11

Jeremiah was being persecuted because he was a man of God. Those who serve the Lord won’t always please the people. Back then, just like he still does today, the devil fooled those who should have surrendered before God. They started worshipping other gods, and because of that, they were taken into captivity. Today, modernism, prosperity, prostitution and many other gods have caused Christians to forget the Most High.

Many times, the message the Lord asks us to deliver isn’t received well by the people. There are some who leave the church because of a message of confrontation that we deliver, when we warn them that the path they’re taking will lead them to hell. However, we should not consider what seems to be a “loss” to us, but instead, we should only be faithful to our Father. He will provide the necessary resources to us if we respect Him.

The sons of God should be faithful to His divine orders; we shouldn’t be like politicians, who hug and shake hands pretending to be someone they’re not. They have a goal to reach: the post they’re willing to obtain; we, servants of the Lord, also have a goal to pursue: to do the Lord’s will. The Lord’s thoughts are different from ours, and our will isn’t the same as His (Isaiah 55:8). Therefore, we should renounce whatever is opposed to the divine plan.

We should be careful with the devil’s suggestions. He offered Jesus all the gold in the world, and today, he uses someone to persuade you to become a politician, for example, or to start a new business, which will surely make you fail. In some cases, the enemy offers your son a job, or an extra help so that you will be in his hands. Be careful with the adulterous woman, for she has the same power of persuasion that deceived Eve.

It doesn’t matter how much you might suffer, if it’s a suffering within your body, or your financial or moral life. In every case, be faithful to what He has called you to do. Don’t compete with someone who, apparently, is being successful. True success can be found when lives are saved, sanctified and baptized with the Holy Spirit. The fruit demonstrates what kind of tree we are. (Matthew 7:20)

God will never write something in wrong letters; therefore, the philosophy that the end justifies the means is a lie. Don’t keep crying for something that’s in the past. But ask the Lord for forgiveness of your sins, and if what you’re doing is successful, thank the Lord. Never touch the glory that should always be His. (Isaiah 42:8)

Jeremiah was very extreme concerning his mission. Many times he almost got killed. His success was not complete only because the king of Judah wouldn’t listen to him, and even so, his words became true. Be faithful to what God speaks to you through the scriptures.

In Christ, with love,
