20/09/2017 - WHY DID GOD HARDEN PHARAOH’S HEART?

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. Exodus 7:3

We must be very careful when we comment about the works and acts of the Most High. Many people are hasty in judging others, and also in judging the Lord. As for this episode written in Exodus, it is common to hear that people do not understand the Almighty, because He hardened Pharaoh’s heart and then punished him for not letting the Israelites leave Egypt. Those who question this should pray to receive the revelation about why did this happen.

The Holy Scriptures warns us that the spiritual things are discerned spiritually (1 Corinthians 2:14). Therefore, if we use the mind to understand the Word of God, we may be led to terrible mistakes. Because of this, many empty religious doctrines arise, which do no good. In fact, if they come from man or the devil, it is the same thing. Even if they might have been created by someone willing to help those who suffer, this guidance will do nothing for anyone.

God sees everything clearly, and not like man. The human being does not have the condition to understand something from the spiritual world, unless the Holy Spirit reveals to him. Thus, if there is no new revelation about a specific subject, it means that what has been shown is enough. Therefore, never publish your opinions on social media, for example, about something that is not in the Bible, or else you may be responsible for a doctrine you created without the Lord’s permission.

Since God, who is Omniscient, knew what Pharaoh could do to the Israelites when they were going to leave Egypt, He had to break the leader of that nation so that His people would suffer no evil when they left that land. As we observe the sequence of facts when Israel received the permission to leave, we understand that the Most High was completely right.

One of the leaders of Egypt prior to this Pharaoh had already been ruthless, when he ordered to kill the Israelite newborns. That was useless, because when something comes from the Lord, nothing can stop Him. Then, since the devil realized that the deliverer was about to be born, he made the Egyptian king publish a decree in which this killing was authorized.

The successor to the throne had much more hatred to the Israelites than the previous pharaohs. If by any chance he allowed the exodus of the holy people, he would certainly regret it and try to destroy them. Never doubt the Lord or distrust that His words are true. Jesus, who is God, declared: I am the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6a). Those who know Him are set free by Him. Amen?

That was what the perverse leader tried to do. Even having authorized the Israelites to leave, he gathered his army and persecuted them. When he witnessed that they crossed the Red Sea by foot on dry land, because it had been split in two, he went after them. Then, when the sea came back together, Pharaoh and his army were drowned and died. God is not mocked (Galatians 6:7)!

In Christ, with love,

Wise and righteous God! Who can compare to You, Lord of the Heavens and the Earth? You are the Only One with all power and wisdom, and You guide Your people in righteousness. When You speak something, we must pay complete attention. Certainly, there is reason and intelligence in Your works.

You know what man can do, before he even opens his mouth and speaks. Thus, those who are wise must bow before what You say, and humbly ask for explanation if they desire to know the reason of Your works. It is not possible to understand You without the help of Your Spirit.

When those who were doubtful because You hardened Pharaoh’s heart saw the leader and his entire army after an unarmed people, they believed in You. We need to respect You in everything, because since You are loving and holy, You will guide us with love.
