19/07/2015 - WHY DOES GOD ACT IN SUCH A WAY?

Then take the flask of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord: “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door and flee, and do not delay.” 2 Kings 9.3

The instructions given in this verse were precise, but why they were given in such a way we do not know. The truth is that the Lord never ceased to command His own work. The sad happenings in our lives occur because of our disobedience to His orders. If we fulfilled them, we would achieve the understanding that cannot be reached otherwise. When we surrender to the service in His house, we discover that we act in a wise manner and that we have been directed and kept by the Most High.

The orientation given to the prophet’s apprentice was to take the flask of oil and pour it on the head of Jehu. God knows the reason why he has chosen certain people to fulfill His plans. Almost all who were used by Him said that they did not seek such a responsibility. Like Saul, some even hid; others struggled and did not abandon the boat only because Jesus has the words of eternal life (John 6.68).

His order was to give the message, to anoint Jehu – and not another captain – and then flee, probably because everyone wished to occupy that position. We must always be alert to the Most High’s determinations, for in some occasions, He can give missions such as these, in which only those who are called by Him can listen to the call. Sometimes, the chosen one is the only to know about his election.

Even after delivering a message from God, the apprentice was supposed to open the door and flee. Do not marvel with an order such as this. Today, many times, we are sent to do the same, and the person that is the object of the message does not even imagine what he will listen. Those who speak too much cannot be used by the Lord, for they will probably not do strictly as they were ordered. In Jehu’s case, if others had knowledge of the divine plan for his life, they could avoid him from assuming the nation’s government.

The apprentice should not be stopped by anything, but let the anointing complete its work by itself. If the servant lingers in fulfilling his duty, his ego might speak too loud, and he might not do as he was ordered or not follow the divine will. When man places his own considerations in first place, almost always he speaks beyond what he should, and therefore, he tends to corrupt God’s orders. The interpretation must come from the lord.

Simply give the message of whatever was placed in your heart, without adding anything. Do not think anything about it, only keep the ordinance. It is not necessary to try to help someone understand the reason why God spoke something or instructed you to do a certain thing. Now, the Most High knows how to direct His work. If He did not guide you to do anything besides delivering the message, remain with your previous orientations.

Another important fact is to observe every word given by the Lord through you. All of them will be fulfilled, for He has a commitment with whatever He announces, but not with what His servant invents or speaks for any other reason. God will supply, in Christ Jesus, every one of your needs. Thus, prepare yourself to be used also in a strange way.

In Christ, with love,

God of prophecies! Your children wish to be used by You to give Your message, and they know that You have no favorites, but You use those whom You have called and prepared to serve You. Whoever wants to deliver personal messages are not ready for Your mission, for they will stumble.

Jehu was the most indicated man to rule at that moment. However, other captains probably desired the same position. The young assistant to the prophet was supposed to speak to him alone, anoint him, and right after, flee. May we never negotiateYour message in order not to frustrate Your plans.

Your anointing does everything for those who were called to execute Your order. May the chosen ones never stumble, even though they may go through great trials. If they do so, they will face Your court. May all my brothers and sisters be able to be faithful to You and to Your calling.
