17/11/2015 - Why the Lord loves us

For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; for how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another. Isaiah 48.11

The Lord has called us from within Himself and, in our eyes, through a complicated process He has brought us into existence. If we surrender to Him – accepting Jesus as Savior and obeying His Word – He will not even allow the enemy to touch us. However, it is worth noting that the Lord allows us to be tempted, not beyond what we are able and, with the temptation, He makes the way of escape (1Corinthians 10.13).

Adam’s trial was necessary, but He should have honored the Lord and not fallen for the devil’s crafty words. Likewise every Christian should expect to be tempted in everything but, like Jesus, who did not sin, your attitude shall bring glory to God. Never play with sin just to repent the next moment, because those who do this may come to the conclusion that there is no more forgiveness for their acts. That’s what happened to Esau and his request was not granted (Genesis 27.38).

Until the second coming of Jesus we will struggle with temptations, rebellion, etc. Our flesh is still strong in our lives, even though we have been saved and are born again. However, the redeemed must remember they ought to be faithful and should not be caught by surprise if they feel like disobeying the Lord. When that happens, they must pray so they can be delivered from their temptations.

At the coming of the Son of God, who will come for the saved to take them to Paradise, the living will be transformed into the likeness of the body Jesus received after His resurrection and before His ascension to Heaven (1Thessalonians 4.15-17). Then, with glorified bodies, we will not have any memory of the Earthly things. However, while we wait for that glorious day, we must watch and pray so that we do not fall into temptation.

Today, for His own sake, the Lord bears our evil deeds and patiently waits for our repentance. Because of that, every time you have stumbled, the All-Mighty has not cast you out of His plans. You are part of Him and, because of that, He does not desire anything bad for you. However, seek reconciliation and live according to what God declares in His Word. Do not abuse of the love He has for Himself.

Besides that, do not despise the opportunity of settling things with the father because, for His own sake He has not destroyed you, but, the day will come when He will no longer show mercy (Revelation 3:16). Many of those who have abused God’s goodness are no longer counted among the redeemed and will never again be. Beware, because the Lord may declare that nothing else will be done on your behalf, and all hope for you will be lost.

Men are God’s glory and, because of that, He does all He can so nobody will give it up. Those who will not repent, however, will taste the second death – eternal separation from the Lord. Be wise and remain at the side of the Most High. If, when you were a sinner, you were greatly loved, can you image what He would do for those who please Him now?

In Christ, with love,

Dr. Soares

Beloved God! It is good to hear that, for Your own sake, You never give up on us and You hear our prayers. If we fall into temptation we are trapped by the enemy and that is not our desire.

You bear our childishness for Your own Name's sake. Therefore, do not allow us to remain under temptation; and so we will not fall for the lies of the evil one. Thank you for Your love, which never allows us to act against Your will.

Make us wise so that we can remain in Your presence, where the enemy can never reach us. When he comes, join the battle and do not allow us to fall in the traps of the devil, because our desire is to serve you today, tomorrow and always.
