Lord, all my desire is before You; and my sighing is not hidden from You.

Psalm 38:9

There is nothing better than opening your heart to the One who knows all things. The greatest mistake is trying to hide something from the Lord because as He is omniscient, He knows if you are being sincere or not. Whoever tries to hide something from God is possessed by the spirit of deception. The devil knows who belongs to him: those who accept his wicked and deceitful suggestions. In this way, he can do whatever he wants with them.

The psalmist was under an evil attack. His sin weighed upon his life and as a result his strength was gone. His whole body was festering, and there was no more courage in his soul (Psalm 38:5-6). So he put all his desire before the Almighty, doing what was necessary to get rid of that pain. Likewise, you should never hide anything in your heart. As you feel something is keeping you away from God, ask Him for forgiveness.

David’s heart panted, which was a sign that he was not spiritually well. If he lived in our days, he would have gone to a doctor and with some pills his heartbeat would go back to normal. But what about the cause of such discomfort? Medicine would not take away the sin and the evil one would have him in his claws. The best course of action is to seek God’s forgiveness in order to avoid falling into temptation. Turn the Lord into your ever-present help.

No one needs to suffer because of their sins. At that time there was no forgiveness for their transgressions; the best they could do about it was to cover them up. However, since Jesus was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities, having endured the punishment that brought us peace (Isaiah 53:5), there is no more need to carry such a burden. Just confess what you have done wrong to be completely forgiven.

He who confesses his transgression obtains the divine mercy. As a result, by having the light of his eyes restored, his strength is also regained and everything else is back to normal. With forgiveness, whatever is slowing down your healing is taken away. Your transgression may have been serious, but God’s mercy will help you bounce back and enjoy the divine presence again. So even if someone sets up traps for you, the enemy’s plans will not prosper against you.

It is the Holy Spirit that convicts you of sin (John 16:8), and if He does so it is because the Almighty wants to forgive you. There is no reason to get carried away by the lies of the devil. The secret is to hold fast to what is written, because what the Lord declares has the power to deliver you. In doing so, your soul will return to its communion with the Lord and the devil can no longer touch you. With Jesus, life becomes stronger and beautiful.
