10/01/2014 - YOUR SOUL MIGHT BE SICK

I said, “LORD, be merciful to me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.” Psalm 41:4

An individual who commits adultery makes the biggest mistake of all: he/she sins against his/her own body. When David sinned with Bathsheba (II Samuel 11:1-5) he opened the door of his house for the devil to get in and, as a result, terrible things happened to his family. He was constantly sad but eventually made the wisest decision. Only God can heal man’s soul. Confess your sin to obtain forgiveness.

God’s Word warns us about the temptation to cheat. The Bible says that whoever commits this act lacks judgment. If sin were not so serious, the Lord would not warn us so much about it; its consequences go beyond imagination. David’s moment of pleasure with the beautiful Bathsheba turned his life upside down: the Lord’s hero was in the hands of demons.

Those were days of great distress when sadness dominated the king’s heart until God raised him up again. David fell sick; the symptoms indicated he seemed to have fever. In a situation like this, an individual has pain all over his/her body and shuns food; he/she does not care if the doctor says there is no cure because he/she no longer wants to live. But the worst disease is the one that attacks one’s soul, which is when the person can no longer resist. The sadness that the sinner feels is a sign that the Lord wants to forgive him/her.

The door was open for the power of darkness; now there was only sadness and gloom. Temptation makes an individual become infatuated with someone thinking that this person would make him/her happy; but after the sin is committed the transgressor wakes up and is filled with remorse and self anger for having opened the door to Satan. When man sins, his communion with God ceases to exist and the fetters of Hell bind him and torture him. A sincere confession frees people from the evil traps.

If you have fallen, confess it first to God, then to the person you have wronged. If this is not done in a thorough way, the recovery of the one who cheated will not take place. Those who refuse to confess will not feel the joy of life returning to their heart. Only he who confesses and abandons sin will attain mercy. He who had the nerve to transgress should have the same courage to confess so as to achieve forgiveness from the betrayed party.

You need to seek healing of the soul or you will never feel the divine presence, and without it you will not have peace and will never resume your fellowship with the Father. Do not let the devil lie to you anymore, saying that your transgression has been forgiven. If the secular court requires restitution or compensation for the wrongdoings that someone has been perpetrated, God’s court, which is far more thorough, requires much more than that!

In Christ with love,
