Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise Your name; the righteous shall surround me, for You shall deal bountifully with me.” Psalm 142.7

Since our first father, Adam, sinned and put us under the influence of evil, the soul of all humanity was in prison. However, when Jesus paid the price of our redemption, we were freed from the condemnation of sin. Today, we absolutely do not have to accept any order from the devil, nor submit ourselves to his desires. After all, we have been completely freed by the Son of God through His death on the cross of Calvary.

If a Christian sins, he will be again under the hand of the oppressor. Then, a true and honest confession will be required of him, as well as a complete repentance from that sin so that he is freed from the enemy’s captivity. If he only ceases to practice iniquity, he will not be totally free. Even if 50 years or more have passed, it is necessary to make the confession, since many years without doing your mistake will not redeem you from your transgression.

The Lord God is faithful and just to forgive (1 Jo 1.9) and to save those who repent and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. However, for those who are saved and fell again in transgression, there is no way to obtain freedom other than confessing your mistake. Only the person who confesses and leaves his sin will be forgiven. On the other hand, it will be useless for a person to stop sinning if he does not seek for forgiveness, for he will continue in the hands of the enemy.

Without being free, your soul cannot praise the Name of the Lord. Even if someone tries to walk in the light, if he is not freed from the spiritual prison that keeps him under the authority of Satan, he will not find true freedom. Those who accept the salvation plan, receiving Jesus as Savior, are made new creatures, and thus, do not owe anything more to the devil (2 Co 5.17). However, if they fall in transgression, they will have to confess it to God.

When the church is in prayer, something beautiful happens. The Lord leads some to pray in the tongues of angels, and when they intercede, surrounding someone that was saved through their prayers, this person remains immune to the evil one. It is wonderful what God does for all of those who serve Him through the grace that He gives. Whoever was already freed must strive not to sin again, so that something worse may not happen to him.

If you are already saved, do not submit to Satan’s will, for after you accept Jesus’ sacrifice in your favor, you obtain complete freedom from your sufferings. Now, you can use the Name of Jesus against any act of the devil. Therefore, it is good to check if there is still something wrong in your life, and if there is, get rid of it forever. If you do so, you will be able to enjoy the freedom that there is in the faith in Jesus.

In Christ, with love,
