And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities,The desolations of many generations. Isaiah 61:4

The work begun by Jesus is much greater than we think. We do not know exactly the damage that the devil caused upon man when he was deceived by the devil. But it certainly wasn’t small. If this were so, the Son of God would not have come into the world to die in our place. In doing so, He stripped Himself of His prerogatives, being born as a helpless and fragile baby, and then rescued us to the Father.

The saved become members of the Body of Christ and His witnesses, and must therefore act as followers and doers of His mission. The fate of millions depends on our obedience to Jesus’ order to His followers: to go all over the world and preach the Gospel (Mark 16:15), using the power of God to bring salvation to the lost, healing the sick and delivering the oppressed in Your name.

In the preceding verse the Lord said: “To console those who mourn in Zion,

To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning,

The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” (Isaiah 61:3). Jesus gave us of His Spirit, so that we might do the same things that He accomplished during His days on Earth. He certainly does these wonders today, but we must obey Him. No one can feel that they own God’s work and do whatever they want, for the Most High will not confirm what that person does.

We must console the sad ones of the church – the anointing of healing to the sick and prosperity to those who are deprived of the celestial goods. When the afflicted are clothed with the praise to our God, they shall be called the trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, and He shall be glorified. Then we will see the places which were in desolation, built and restored. We need to bring back the glory of the Father!

God wants the faith that He gave to man – the place in Him – not to remain destroyed, so that all people may enjoy the abundant life given by Jesus. It is time to restore the desolate places. Thus the people will enjoy this time of grace. We should be striving to have all people fulfill themselves in Christ, not only in what He did when dying on the cross but also in what He commanded us to do in His Name. We have to order a change in everyone.

If we do like the religious, we will not succeed in our walk of faith. We must follow our Greatest Example: Jesus. In imitating any other person, you descend from your position in the Savior, and thus, the enemy holds you in his clutches. We are commanded by Christ to do the same things He did in His Name. Halleluiah!

Why come down from the position in Jesus, if your determinations are honored in it? May the ones who mourn in Zion be filled with heavenly joy; the sick, healed; the oppressed, freed, and the sinners forsake the evil way. Once saved, they will be witnesses of the virtue that works in the children of God!
