23/07/2020 - ABRAHAM´S GREAT TEST

Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”   Genesis 22:1

Every teacher tests their students to see whether they have learned the lesson or need further explanation. When they pass, they realize how good it is to devote to study so that they will never be ashamed. God had blessed Abraham a number of times, so he should know that the Lord is faithful in all His promises. Then the day came for the patriarch to be tried, and he did not disappoint his Master.

This was not the first time the patriarch had to show his trust in God with all his heart. In Gerar, Abraham almost lost his wife. But before Abimelech, ruler of that land, touched her, the Lord intervened, though she was already in the palace for the wedding preparation. The Most High made the king know that he would suffer much if he took her as his wife; so, in desperation, he returned it and gave her many gifts, and Abraham blessed it (Gen. 20:1-18).

The servants of the Almighty must wait for the trials. After all, the devil has been roaring about them (1 Pet. 5: 8), and surely, having the opportunity, will do one more of his actions. However, if man is of God and lives in communion with Him, he will be protected in all situations. Those who do not know or do not want to serve the Omnipotent means that He will not listen to their calls for help. No doubt it is worth having and keeping the divine commandments.

When you feel the call of the Lord, heed it and says, “I am at your service.” He expects to hear your “here I am.” However, before you want to hear the sweet voice of the Spirit, prepare to present yourself approved as a worker who has nothing to be ashamed of (2 Tim. 2:15). Remember that the initiative to get under the fig tree was by Nathanael; Philip later found him and spoke of Christ (John 1:45). He still sees the one who follows His touch.

Isaiah was still living the death of King Uzziah when he saw the glory of God fill the temple. The phenomenon was wonderful. He felt like nothingness, like someone who was perishing. He confessed that he was a man of unclean lips and dwelt among the people of unclean lips. A seraphim flew at him, holding in his hand an ember that he had grasped at the altar with a tongs and touched his lips, purifying them, and he received his call (Is 6.5,6)!

Abraham had been commanded to leave his land and go to a place that would be revealed to him later. In obedience, he walked for many years with God and saw that trusting in Him is everything in this life. Then the Lord called him to a great mission, the greatest a person can receive, and the patriarch left him with a grade of ten. One must always obey the absolute Lord in everything. Make the right decision who believes.

No matter how much you have followed the orders of the Omnipotent. If you listen to what He is saying to you now, you can improve your standing before Him. The Most High never comes to harm anyone, but to approve you as faithful. God knows the reason for His choice, so be ready to fulfill His determinations.
