The art of deception has existed since the beginning of human life on Earth. This erroneous procedure originated with the devil, who used cunning and succeeded in enslaving man. But the Son of God left His glory and came into the world to save us, and succeeded in his mission. Now, we no longer need to regret the error of our first parents, but only believe in the sacrifice of Jesus and take our place of honor in Him!
Lovingly, the apostle John calls us little children. Now, he wrote this verse under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, this treatment originated in the heart of the other Comforter. The Spirit of God guides us in all truth and teaches us the things spoken about us in heaven (John 16.13). Jesus said: He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you (John 16.14).
We will never be deceived by evil forces, by crafty men, or by ourselves, if we follow the Scriptures, which contain what is necessary to serve God. Should any temptation come, we must be mindful that the Holy Spirit will remind us of God’s Word. Then, with a firm command, we will rebuke the tempter and believe that he has already left defeated. The Lord is good!
Now, by saying let no one deceive you, God shows that you yourself, without His guidance, can be deceived, even without realizing it. In this regard, the Bible reveals: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? (Jeremiah 17.9). Trust only in the Lord! Everything that has been written has its proper address in us: For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope (Romans 15.4).
A Christian can become an overcomer overnight, if he believes what the Holy Book assures him of. Neither an angel nor the Lord can deny the biblical records: My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips (Psalm 89.34). Therefore, never fall into the traps of the master liar, the devil. He tried to deceive the Lord at least three times in the synagogue in Capernaum, but the Master rebuked him (Mark 1.24,25).
The Scriptures declare that the saved is the righteousness of God in Christ. That is enough for you to never give place to the devil. The Bible will not need to be rewritten, because its Author has foreknowledge. He knows what we need in order to overcome any evil until the last second of our life. The Creator has already put in His Book the necessary information so that no one will fall for the “trick” of the evil one. Rebuke the enemy, believe in the Lord, and live!
Look closely at the statement of the verse we are studying: by practicing righteousness, we are righteous as He is! This is awesome and must be taken on by you. After giving your command in the Name of Jesus, divine power will do the work. However, if you doubt in your heart, you can forget it, for nothing will happen. Your fate is in your hands. What will your stance be?
In Christ, with love,

God, Revealer of the righteous! It is good to have our eyes open, for by being obedient to what You say in the Scriptures, we are righteous. That's wonderful! There's no way the devil and the demons can deceive us anymore; after all, by practicing righteousness, we are considered righteous!
Deliver us from being religious, followers of man-made doctrines, because we don't know what to say to those who seek us out or want to dominate us. We want to live only from what Your mouth declares by the Word!
Thank you for treating us like little children and for the warning that no one should deceive us, not even ourselves. We have a standard to follow: the guidelines in Your Book. Acting in this way, we will glorify You. Thank You very much, Father!
