29/01/2021 - ABOMINATION LIKE THE THING THEY LOVED

“I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the first fruits on the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal Peor, And separated themselves to that shame; They became an abomination like the thing they loved. Hosea 9:10

Imagine the joy of someone who, being lost in the desert without eating for such a long time, suddenly looks to the side and does not believe what they see: a vine of fresh grapes! Is that a mirage? The excitement of this person, who was about to die and go into the unknown, is extraordinary. God found us that way. Unbelievable, isn’t it?

This vine – whose preservation is inexplicable, except by the hand of the One who has all the power – continued to bear fruit. When it looked like it would wane or dry up, it miraculously showed that One was giving it life and feeding it. How many battles we´ve lost and how much ungratefulness have we shown to the Lord, who made us exist in full chaos! Meditate, pray and turn to God!

The encounter of the Most High with man comes from long ago. It began when Abraham saw the corruption of his people in Ur of the Chaldeans and decided to break up with all of that. In that desert, he was that grape vine that would feed millions of people, or the entire world if he said yes to God. The patriarch of faith made a wise decision, and so we are blessed in him!

Isaac, who was man of fear, came from Abraham; then Jacob came, the one who regained what was rightfully his and of so many others. They were the first ripe fruits of the right season. However, after the orchard was completed, and everyone was able to live on what was produced there, their descendants discovered Baal-Peor and abandoned the One who had initiated the work with the vine, or the fig tree, and was ready to give life to mankind.

For the Gospel to reach us, the Lord took care of the fresh grapes and figs. However, we read in the verse that Abraham´s descendants gave up on the God of holiness and gave in to the lord of promiscuity, which defiles the marital bed and makes the saints of the heavenly Father equal to the unclean of Satan. The time in which men will not endure sound doctrine is arriving (2 Timothy 4:3), what will happen to us? Mercy! 

A shameful idol has been lifted up in place of the Lord’s altar. The crowds that are not aware are being deceived by the power of sensuality. What will be of the church if this remains? Where will this “gospel” end up? May the filthy ones get even more filthy, and the righteous ones be more righteous (Revelation 22:11)! Who will you go to: Jesus or the filthy Baal?

Those loved by the Almighty no longer cast out demons, cleanse no one, and don´t restore lives on the altar of God. The devil disguised as a lamb dictates rules, but the last trumpet will sound, and what will become of those who gave up on the Lord for the god of sensuality, becoming as vile as this one?
