With the success obtained in the wars, economic prosperity filled Judah with wealth. Because of this, the king thought about the safety of the country, and began to build towers in Jerusalem and later in various parts of its territory. This achievement was attained by a young king who took command of the nation at a young age and believed that God was with them. Uzziah decided to take away the shame that weighed on his people and show who the Strong One was.
When we begin to succeed, it’s important to seek the Lord. Without His help, we take harmful paths, and consequently, there will be accountability for unthinking actions. There is nothing better than to surrender to God with all your heart, avoiding the bad examples of people with no commitment to the Truth. We are different from the rest (Matthew 5.13-16). Pray!
The concern for the future is seen in humanity. However, lack of prudence in our attitudes can cause serious problems. We can never go against what is right and think the Most High will help us. By having foreknowledge – knowing the things to come – many times, the Lord does not help us in our difficulties or allows the enemy to attack us, so that we don’t take paths of no return.
So, if some of your prayers go unanswered, they did not originate with God. What we want to obtain is not always good. If our desire has not come from the Lord or from His Word, it is a snare of the enemy. Try to walk according to the Scriptures. It is the Manual made by the One who created everything and knows all things perfectly in their beginning.
The towers built by Uzziah were good, because he received guidance from Heaven. The Word talks about the necessary safety measures: Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain (Psalm 127.1). Those buildings would be irrelevant if God did not guard the city. What Uzziah did was good, because the Lord had inspired him to do so.
Besides raising the towers, the king made sure to fortify them. In my youth, I devoted myself to speaking about the Lord to my acquaintances and I was successful in this, but in case one of them accepted Jesus as Savior, I didn’t leave them alone, since they were now saved. I would accompany them to church, trying to be by their side so that they would continue on God’s path. When I saw this person baptized in the Holy Spirit and able to walk on their own, I would go on to evangelize another.
Strengthening our actions on behalf of the work is fruitful. There is no equal limit for everyone. There are those who soon begin to show signs of spiritual maturity, but others take a longer time – these require more care. We are to act the same way with the workers, following the Master’s example: All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out (John 6.37). Watch and pray!
In Christ, with love,

God, our Safety! We need to learn from You, by giving You lordship over our lives. We err in not seeking to know what You say about all things. Help us to know the Scriptures and Your power. Then we will not sin!
We can say that Uzziah was prudent in his actions, for he even strengthened the towers. We must strengthen every worker that we are used to mold in the faith in Christ. Thus, he will be a strong tower against evil!
Let our works testify of our obedience to You! They must not be the taunts of the lost. If we act under Your wise guidance, we will build the towers and strengthen them. Show us how to do this according to Your will!
