People who do not know the Word of God ignore what is behind the alcoholic beverages, but the saved know: the devil’s hand. The Bible is clear when speaking against the use of narcotics or drugs with a high content of alcohol in their composition, because they have an anesthetic and addictive effect. In the same group of condemnable things are the drugs that are known or still to come. The Word says that those who use them will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven (1 Corinthians 6.9,10).
Hannah asked Eli not to judge her as a daughter of Belial. She wanted to say that she was a servant of the Lord and she was fighting for her right to bear a son, because God made her a woman for that. Those who are resigned to some deformity do not act like Bartimaeus, son of Timaeus, who, upon hearing of Jesus’ approach, cried out for mercy. Bartimaeus knew that he would never see otherwise. He was told to be quiet, but he cried out louder and louder (Luke 18.35-43).
Being considered a daughter of wickedness, Hannah’s request would be rejected by the Lord. However, God assured her that if she had a son and dedicated him to God’s work, she would have more children, and she did: two more boys and three more girls (1 Samuel 2.21). Refuse to be called by names different from those intended for the children of God; prove by your faith that the Lord will hear your prayer. Whoever is silenced by the voices of the world is considered a servant of evil.
Hannah claimed to have abundance of complaint and that she was ready to overcome deceit, prejudice and adversity, until she achieved her goal: to be a mother. Nothing and no one would stop her from receiving the blessing. For this reason, when she saw her time coming, she began to pray like a castaway holding on to something to save himself. God’s servants are known for the persistence they show concerning their rights. Always pray!
By taking care of herself in faith, Hannah used everything she had learned in the Word. She wanted to come out of that battle successfully. For that to happen, her cry needed to be heard by the Lord. The divine answer was precious to her; after all, barrenness, in those days, was like being cursed. Now, today it’s the same thing: those who cannot overcome their problem will be told that something is wrong. Here is the truth: God answers the prayer of faith (James 5.14-16)!
She showed that was discontent with one thing: that she was barren. But God is never wrong! So, regardless of your need, use your faith and go into battle, as Jacob did (Genesis 32:22-32). It was all or nothing for the patriarch, for Esau had to be restrained, or they would all be dead. He who believes can reverse any situation. Hannah did it!
Stop asking A or B what to do. Talk to the Lord, be honest. Remember: God speaks and acts through His Word. Your success will be true with victory, not with a negative answer. Why would God have any other purpose in having brought Hannah to life as a woman? He prepared each person to be a blessing. Believe!
In Christ, with love,

Lord, the Solution to all problems! You are the One to whom we can entrust our lives and our dreams, for we are Your dream. We cannot let ourselves be labeled as servants of Belial, for that is not Your Name. We are Your children!
We must keep our dreams from falling apart. They must be like stars in Your hands, shining brighter and brighter, and moving forward on the journey of faith. Your love must be the mark of our lives; thus, we will glorify You!
May we never harbor displeasure, or lack of solidarity towards others! The devil and his demons will never prevail against us. Being members of the Body of Christ, we are untouchable by the enemy. We are Your children in Christ Jesus, our Lord!
