Since Jacob did not look to the Lord for guidance regarding Esau, he felt he had to show his brother how prosperous he had become, in order to soften his heart. Now, our defenses must be made in God; only then will we succeed. Whoever uses the weapons of the flesh will not succeed against the works of darkness. In Jacob’s case, the battle of darkness against the divine plan began still in his mother’s womb. God is just!
Jacob felt powerful because of the angels that accompanied him by divine command and the goods that the Almighty helped him acquire. However, without heavenly assistance, he would not be able to change his brother’s murderous mind. The journey of the attendants Jacob had sent to Seir lasted for some time. With them, they took animals as a gift to appease Esau’s fury. The delay did not worry him; after all, he thought that time would have calmed his brother’s heart.
The imagination of a man that is not based on the Bible’s guidance is doubtful, because it is not built on the Rock. Therefore, there was little or no point in Jacob’s attempt to deceive Esau with the information of the goods obtained from his uncle’s house. Similarly, we expect our family members to accept Jesus so that they will not be eternally lost, but the battle for their salvation has to be the Lord’s work.
Many Christians are losing their health, resources, and part of their family members by not showing a simple act of faith: believing what the Almighty says in His Word. We cannot live outside God’s plan. Even if we are very emotional or fanatical, nothing will work unless we act according to the Scriptures. Now, to lose even one family member is very serious, because he will never have a chance to get out of eternal torment.
We must always talk to our Father about ourselves, our family and others who need to come out of the kingdom of darkness, take the hatred out of their hearts and assume their place in Christ. This is part of the spiritual struggle that every servant of God needs to fight. By accepting Jesus as Savior, the entire family is blessed with salvation, but we have to believe for that to happen (Act 16.31).
Jacob wanted to find grace in his brother’s eyes by human means. It is simply delusion to buy anyone; however, when we are right with the Lord, if we pray and believe what He speaks about us, God will work on those who think they are our enemies, making them have peace with us: When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him (Proverbs 16.7). The secret is to walk with the Father!
Without a doubt, we have made decisions that cannot even be examined by the Kingdom of Heaven. God honors His promises as long as we follow the Bible. Now, if we do not pay attention to the law and the testimonies, we will not see the true light shining in our projects and ways (Isaiah 8.20). Obeying the Word is good!
In Christ, with love,

God to be honored! Why should we fail to fulfill Your Word, if we will labor in vain and often suffer without Your works in our favor? We cannot turn away from You, Lord!
There is no way to pretend that we serve You. Your glory cannot be ignored, unless we don't care about the results. Nothing is better than walking under Your guidance and love. Then the evil one will not touch us!
What good are human plans, efforts in things You have not given us, since without Your power and love we will never be victorious? We want to let You tell us how we should act, where to go, and what to say. In this way we will have victory upon victory!
