My soul is among lions; I lie among the sons of men Who are set on fire, Whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword. Psalm 57:4

David began this Psalm pleading for mercy and justifying that he could be answered because he trusted in God.  He even added that he dwelt in the shadow of the Lord’s wings and did so until the calamities ceased (v.1). Maybe you are undergoing a time of trouble, when everything wrong seems to happen to you.  Therefore, check and see that you have trusted in the Lord and that the shadow of His wings – the revelations from the Word – have been your shelter.  Then, seek His help.  

The psalmist trusted in the fact that the Lord did everything for him, and his faith grew to such an extent that he could never be denied.  When you have this conviction, pray about everything that the Word says belongs to you, and you will be successful.  First, however, prepare your heart in order for the heavenly Father to be able to operate.  Don’t let doubt enter into your heart.  Once assured, be grateful to Him. 

David would cry out to the Most High, meaning that he would never ask any other living or deceased person to rescue him, not even Abraham, the patriarch, Isaac or Jacob who was so victorious, who call the Lord  the God of Jacob.  Never plea or cry to anybody who feigns to be god or saintly.  Pray only to the Lord of lords, who will do everything in your favor, as long as you plea and request in fullness of faith.

The psalmist’s help would come from Heaven and he would be despised by who wanted to devour his life. The devil tries to do this with you when he sends temptations in your direction, the deceptions and evil to hijack your heart.  However, if you trust in the Lord, you will not let yourself be drawn to any threat coming from the adversary, but will respond with total assurance and faith, because the God who guards you is Consuming fire and your Friend.

Know and believe that the Almighty sends His mercy and truth to those who wait in Him, which is why such people are saved from the snares and traps of the devil.  If man tries to do the same he will fail, but since God is All-Powerful and performs much more and further than we think or ask, good things lean towards you.  He has given proof that His love for you is unconditional.   With the Lord, nothing can ever go wrong.

Although your soul is among lions, among men that are ready to destroy you, or demons prepared to draw you away from the path, you must not fear them, because He who guards you received all the power in Heaven and on Earth, and His Name will give you complete victory.  Solve the problems that hinder you, using the authority of this Name.  You can!

It is of no consequence if the teeth of your opponents are like spears and arrows, and their tongues are like sharpened swords.  No weapons forged against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).  Now the Name of Jesus has come a long way, His lips are full of indignation and His tongue is like a consuming fire.  Use this Name and believe that the evil was destroyed; then you will see how much He loves you.
