Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God!    Psalm 83:1

Asaph begins this Psalm with an interjection, crying out to the Lord. Every prayer done to the Most High, in accordance to the biblical guidance, will receive the attention of the Almighty, as long as it is done with faith. Today, the correct way to pray is to use the Name of Jesus, after having learned from the Word that that which will be asked is part of the Covenant done by God with mankind. It is necessary that those who ask are in peace with Him. 

The psalmist asked God not to be in silence, for the enemies were making a tumult. Therefore, when it appears that the enemy will win the battle – after all, until then, no one was able to stop the demonic attack -, don’t leave it for later, but, with faith and determination, enter into prayer to destroy the hellish plot that arose against your life, for God says that He will never forsake you.

Nothing escapes the Lord´s sight, which sees all things in all places. He is not deceived by people´s appearances, nor is He touched by the belongings people have. The Father loves us just the same and, because of that, you can be certain that He will never leave you or forsake you. If something is not going well in your life or family, cry out to God right now, because He will certainly hear you. 

Asaph prayed for the Lord not to close His ears, for, if He did that, then he would not be answered. However, today, we don’t need to make a similar request, because all that we need has already been given to us in Christ. Soon, whatever is not in accordance with the Word will be destroyed; you just need to believe that God´s ears are not shut to the point of not hearing your cry. 

The prophet Isaiah said that our sins have hidden His face from us so that He will not hear our requests (Isaiah 59:2). In order to get rid of sin, surrender your life to Jesus and, then, confess your errors to God. Now, if you don’t do this wholeheartedly, you will certainly not fool the Lord; therefore, even if you spend days, months or years asking to be heard, this will not happen. The secret is to believe! 

When someone does not pay attention to the Almighty, He cannot answer this person. Those who close the door to the Lord prevent Him from helping them. Therefore, never be led by the lies of the enemy; otherwise, you will be hurt. It´s good to always have the eyes of God over your life. Thus, when He warns you about a danger, you might be able to pray in time to receive your response. 

In this verse, Asaph summed up what everyone needs to learn to have God´s help at all times. He certainly does not wish to stay away from His people, but He will give ear to all those that cry out, as long as this person is acting in accordance with what they learned in the Bible. Make a covenant with God by receiving Jesus as Savior.
