So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, just as the Lord commanded. And Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent. Exodus 7:10

When Aaron showed the divine power, the sorcerers counter-attacked and did something similar. However, as it usually happens in our meetings, in which we cast out demons, there are sorcerers who also “deliver” people from evil spirits. In our case, those sent from the darkness never return. But in the case of the mystics, the demons work in silence. Whoever seeks help from those who say that they receive the spirit of the dead will see that they only exchanged one spirit for another even worse. 

There is no possible competition between sorcerers and the power of the Name of the Lord. Only through the Gospel, the oppressed are truly set free from the evil power, they are able to change their lives and become good citizens. We are not fighting with any religion, but doing the work of God as He taught us. In the same way, the Most High is not fighting against lesser gods, because there is no such a thing. The evil spirits call themselves gods to deceive the human being.

In the days that Paul preached, the sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, had found a way of eluding people. For some time, they called themselves walking exorcists, imitating the ways of the apostle in ministering deliverance to the oppressed by demons. However, one day, they found a person possessed by a stronger evil spirit, which leaped on them, tore apart their clothes, so that they fled naked and wounded (Ac 19:13-16).

In the ministry of the Gospel, nobody should be in sin, because an evil spirit can overpower him and shame him. I have seen similar cases, in which a person tried to expel the evil spirit, but it danced in front of him. How embarrassing! Why didn’t that man have the capacity to cast it out? Well, after some years, he left his family and went to live with another woman. Have mercy, Lord!

When the battle is real, and is not a matter of the flesh influenced by the demon, only those who are firm in the faith can triumph. The enemy will fight to show that your power is smaller than his, so that he may embarrass you.  However, if you are in communion with the Most High, the evil spirit will be immediately ashamed. Jesus gave us power over the enemy’s power, but in case you are in sin, you can be put to shame (Luke 10.19).

Always live in the presence of God and in communion with Him. Thus, it does not matter if a weak demon or Satan himself comes to face you. You will rebuke and expel him in the Name of Jesus, setting the person free from that involvement. Those who walk with God will always have His assistance, so they will never be put to shame. That is how the Lord desires you to serve Him, in order for Him to back you in your battles and make you victorious.

If you act in the Name of Jesus, you will see cases in which, apparently, the evil spirits do not leave. But, if the Holy Spirit drives you, you will make them subject to the authority that you have been entrusted. With God, you will always be a blessing!
