Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you. Genesis 28:15

Jacob marveled at what God had promised him – the Lord would be with him in everything. Those who also receive this revelation know that they will never be abandoned. Therefore, no Christian can say that he has failed to fulfill his Father’s orders because he does not know whether or not to have his counsel. Now there is the testimony of the Holy Spirit in your heart.

With God you will walk with your head held high. Looking at Jacob, we see that he had the Lord by his side, as he reached the lands of his uncle Laban, found Rachel and prospered under the command of his relative who did not want him to prosper. By these facts, we understand that the same can happen to us. The hand of the Lord reaches out to us to do the same wonderful things (Isa 59.1).

No matter where Jacob went, the Almighty would keep him in his actions. The New Covenant with man, sanctioned in the blood of Jesus, goes beyond the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We are privileged by so many blessings given to us, but the way we serve God may prevent us from taking possession of them. Where have we gone wrong?

In the years he served Laban, Isaac’s son saw the hand of the Most High prevent him from harming his father-in-law, even though he acted in bad faith. Jacob’s salary was changed tenfold, and the sheep that were born always made him prosper. When Laban said that the stripes would be Jacob’s, they were only born striped. If the father-in-law changed his mind and said that the mottled must be his son-in-law’s salary, then only the mottled was born. Then the conversation shifted to guinea fowl, and only guinea fowl were born (Gen. 30:25).

Who can compete with the Lord, who cares for His children, even in the details? However, it is necessary to go all the way in God-given trials to become an approved soldier. Heavenly affairs are directed to those who believe in the Almighty. Therefore, be faithful in all that God tells you, and you will see that He is faithful in His promises. The Most High was pleased with us; soon we will fulfill our mission with joy.

Jacob went to Laban’s house to get his long-awaited wife, and though he was deceived by his father-in-law, he endured working seven more years for her sake. Then, having heard that it was time to return home, Jacob accepted the guidance and saw that God took care of him in every need for the journey, sending His angels to receive and guide him (Gen. 32.1). The fight with the angel in the ford of Jabbok proved that the Lord loved him.

The Hebrew patriarch knew that he would not be alone, because God is faithful. It may seem crazy what he did when he ran away with his whole family. The children and the cattle could not walk fast, and because they walked at a slow pace, the father-in-law caught up with them. However, the fact that Rachel rested on her father’s idols did not allow her to wipe out Jacob and his own (Gen. 31:34, 35). It was a great trial!

In Christ, with love,

God who is infallible in the promises! Knowing that you are with us, we no longer have to despair and fear. The devil is no match for your power. We can follow Your plan and nothing bad will happen to us. After all, it is your promise to be with us continually.

No matter where you send us; You will keep us from the enemy. We will walk at slow pace, enjoying the journey as tourism and learning. Your presence is the guarantee that we will never be harmed by evil.

One day we will return to Thee, and in the land where sin will never enter, our struggle and our needs will cease. Thank you for being with us on the walk, as you have not finished doing what you have been told. We love You for who You are!
