22/01/2022 - CONFESS YOUR MISTAKE

He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Proverbs 28.13

Of all the things we are to guard, the heart – our spirit, the true person – needs to receive the most attention. On this, Jesus taught: But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.  For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies (Matthew 15.18,19). So protect yourself from temptations, and if you desire peace, open yourself to the forgiveness of the Most High.

When we transgress God’s Law, even if we don’t know whether or not it is permissible, we are troubled from within, because the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin (John 16.8). The right thing to do is to seek God’s forgiveness and to apologize to the person whom we have wronged. Without a doubt, we will be forgiven (1 John 1.9). We cannot say, “I didn’t know that I had offended anyone,” because our heart knows right away whether we have done right or wrong. God convinces us!

When someone sins intentionally, their life becomes problematic and nothing else works out well for them. Transgressors often move away, thinking that being somewhere else will take the guilt off their conscience, but this will never happen. Divine mercy will always be found by those who follow the Word. The fugitive realizes that he is in bad terms with the offended one, and the worst: he believes that everyone knows about it. To surrender to Jesus is the right thing!

The so-called guilty conscience is a blessing granted by the Creator to those who violate His Law. Because He is a God of justice, He will never let the sinner live in peace (Nahum 1.3). In due time, the Lord will provide a way for us to make amends concerning our mistakes here on Earth, through the gift of repentance (2 Timothy 2.25,26). One who has erred must not think that their sin will go unpunished. Such a person needs to truly convert to the Gospel, thus achieving – divine forgiveness. Watch and pray!

Adam’s sin completely ruined us, but the new birth recreates us to a new life, as the Scriptures say: There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit (Romans 8.1). Only a heart purified by the blood of the Lamb enjoys peace! By accepting God’s offer, you will be a new creation, and the old things will pass away (2 Corinthians 5.17). Believe and live!

No transgressor is innocent. Even if he has been led to do evil by someone’s inducement, the offender is convinced by the Holy Spirit that he has done something bad (John 16.8). Now, when they tried to cover up their mistake, Adam and Eve erred again. Instead of confessing their wrong attitude, they used leaves to cover themselves and tried to hide behind trees so as not to be seen. Only God can forgive sins! So, don’t run from Him. Amen?

Lack of peace and trouble become common to those who sin and do not seek the escape given by the Most High – repentance. If they fail to take advantage of the divine offer of the new birth, sinners will never get rid of their iniquities. Trying to hide, as the first couple did, is sheer stupidity, for the Almighty sees and corrects all things. Accept Jesus now!

In Christ, with love,

Good and merciful God! We come to You with a conscience that accuses us of having sinned. So we confess that we have not been living as You please, and we ask for Your forgiveness. Lord! We cannot go on like this!

Our thoughts are evil. But we repent of this and trusting in Your Word, we beg for the cleansing of our souls, thoughts and good purposes in our hearts. Give us life and sanctification!

We want to have peace, with a clear conscience from sins and Your mercy enveloping us. Instruct us and guide us only in Your ways. In You we are truly free and sanctified. Thank You, Father!
