Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?”  Matthew 15.33

Often, when faced with a sudden problem, we also express ourselves with doubts and in some cases even panic. Why do we act like this when we have the Wonderworker with us? We must then use the authority given to us by Him and bring to light what is necessary in each situation. Let us cast off all fear, for we have the Lord at our side!

The disciples had no faith at that moment, but these people did, because for three days they hadn’t been worrying about what they would eat. This shows that the lesson was learned: “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? (Matthew 6.25). Believe and live!

When we are connected to God, we understand the mission, but if we are off the Path, we don’t even remember what He has already done and promised. Now, God never changes His Word, but man is inattentive to this simple fact. The worry shows that we have not learned to trust the Most High, and this is serious. Put away doubt from your heart, or it will separate you from the Almighty (James 1.6,7). Watch, pray and believe!

What did the disciples’ questioning mean? Were they trying to tell Jesus that He was responsible for anything that happened to them, since the Master remembered too late to warn them about the problem? Absolutely not! Deep inside, they were aware that they were following God and that He knew how to act on the occasion. Trusting in the Lord makes us rest and laugh during crises!

The answer to their question would come from the Heaven’s Envoy Himself. Now, when God makes you meditate about something, don’t be afraid – because He knows how to work in order to give everyone what they need to live. Since man was created, he has gone through several crises, and it seemed that he would be extinguished. Jesus declared:  Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place (Mark 13.30).

The number of people could have been thousands of times greater than that gathering. And yet, two little fish and five barley loaves had been enough to feed a crowd before (Matthew 14.17). Now, when you hear something from God about a certain need, it’s because He already has a plan to give you the provision. Next, Jesus commanded everyone to sit down and began to share the loaves and fishes. Then, they ate until they were full.

What is your need? Stop worrying, because it does no good. Set out to fulfill the Lord’s command! If you don’t understand the divine answer, pray and read the Word. Surely, God will speak to you using the Scriptures. No prayer will fail to be answered. The Father will never lack power. He is God!

In Christ, with love,

Father, our Provider! Why doubt Your ability to lead the work and Your people? You have never lost a battle, nor will it be said that there was a day when You could not answer those who seek You. Help us to trust in You to overcome evil!

Your hand has not shrunk, nor have You failed to keep Your promise, declared in the Scriptures. Everything You have said will come to light, so we thank You beforehand. Your Book says that no evil shall befall us!

We always want to be ready to see You at work. We love You, Lord. We’ll stop giving credit to the devil and answer You with the declarations You have made on our behalf. Amen!
