Then Moses said, “Indeed I am going out from you, and I will entreat the Lord, that the swarms of flies may depart tomorrow from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. But let Pharaoh not deal deceitfully anymore in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord. Exodus 8:29

Moses did not pray in front of the Pharaoh but he promised to do this. There is a proper time and place to do everything we are to do; we therefore must seek direction from the Most High.  One day, the apostle Peter guaranteed to the tax collectors that the Master would pay His share.  However, when he went in to where Jesus was, he was questioned by Him concerning who were to be taxed and Peter said, “The strangers”.  Christ answered then that they were exempt but in order to not create a scandal He ordered that they pay taxes.

God would only remove the plague of the flies that tormented the Pharaoh as well as his people in reply to the prayer from the anointed that were being used in leading this work.  Never hasten to deliver anyone subject to the discipline from Heaven because maybe your prayer may not be answered.  Likewise, don’t ever jump ahead and forgive somebody because if that person sinned she must be reprimanded and if she repents then she should be forgiven.

Moses was not blunt or rude when he told the Pharaoh that he no longer accepted being deceived.  When you are solving a problem with someone you and the other part will be in position of equals.  So speak according to the Word of the Lord.  But if the other part becomes reprehensible, do so according to the freedom you feel God gives you.  Actually, in truth, you are a servant and must speak according to the direction from the Almighty.

Understand that God treats us as partners in carrying out His plans.  When He gives you a mission and you are executing and fulfilling it, carry it out in obedience to His instructions.  Anybody under divine direction has to have the liberty to seek and receive the directions from Heaven and once the will of the Father is known, must say, do and act accordingly.  The Bible declares that God has no part in confusion; therefore, He would not appoint you a mission or task and use someone else to give you the instructions.  He is Omniscient.

According to Moses’s words the king would still have to spend the night with those flies, which would only be removed the following day.  This way the Pharaoh would know that the flies were there not by chance, but had actually been sent as a punishment that would only cease if and when Moses prayed.  Don’t exceed when acting in the Name of the Lord, because the limits are set by the Scriptures.  Never subtract or add any detail in a revelation you may receive but be firm and resolute doing exactly what the Lord commanded.

There is dignity in God and there must be in His servants as well. Moses would never bow or kneel before the Pharaoh and never would do his will just because he was the powerful one in that land.  Likewise, we must act within what we were ordered to do, without adding what we would like to see happen or someone say.  Spiritual maturity in those that serve God does not come over time but comes with the fear of the Lord.

In the plague of the flies, the Lord shamed their god whom the Egyptians believed could remove the flies at will.  Certainly the pagan priests must have pleaded for help from this demon, but nothing happened.  Moses declared they would leave the next day and so it was.

In Christ, with Love,

God of dignity!  As You are worthy of honor, You also honor your servants, who should never fear anybody.  No matter how great or important a man may be, You exceed any man by far in greatness and power.

Pharaoh realized that all that happened was in order to change his heart and so being one day he would let Your people go.  Your promise to the Israelites was to take them to Canaan, a land of milk and honey.  Today Your promise is to take us to Heaven.

We will be with You in the Land of Glory! Meanwhile, we are happy to be with You in the Land of Promise.  Being part of the Body of Christ and Your Kingdom we must live accordingly in our behavior because of the calling You gave us. Amen!
