 And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.   John 16.23

We are one step away from taking over the best spiritual position of our entire lives, by loving Jesus and doing His will, as the Word of God teaches us. Sometimes we don’t even realize that having and keeping the commandments makes us loved by God. That’s why we must cry out for an understanding of the Scriptures. Thus, with firm and powerful faith, we will destroy the strongholds of unbelief that try to hold back God’s work (2 Corinthians 10:4,5).

In the text studied, Jesus says: And on that day, but what does that represent? The day He would come to visit us to teach us His Word. Because of this, we put ourselves at His feet to understand His ministry and, thus, help those who still live in the valley of the shadow of death, lacking what is necessary to enjoy a decent life. We are the people who need to show the world what we have come for, and we will do that in Christ Jesus.

If the past generation didn’t love the Lord as they should have, that’s none of our business. Today, we need to do our “homework”. If we haven’t done it thoroughly and well, the day will come when we will be steadier in the faith, determined to do the Lord’s work. Then heaven will rejoice in our service to the Most High. We must have and keep the commandments, because this practice makes the Almighty truly love us (John 14:21).

When He was in our midst, Christ demonstrated what real faith can do for those who obey God’s will. The Savior called those who do what He commands a friend: You are My friends if you do whatever I command you (John 15:14). By fulfilling His commands, you will be accepted as His friend. The condition is simple to meet, so dedicate yourself to the Kingdom of God these days.

Jesus said: “You shall ask me nothing“, indicating that we should get down to work. However, we keep talking about things we couldn’t even mention. So, as we don’t understand the Lord’s purpose for us, we receive nothing. It’s sad to read what the Master said and not see it happen in our lives, but He knows everything that concerns us. So, stand up firm in the Savior’s words and do your part!

We are living the day mentioned by Jesus, because we see the glory of God in his Word and in the acts of men of faith throughout the world. Our turn has come to show who the Lord is and what He wants to do in us. Jesus said that we will receive the claims made in His powerful Name. Take advantage of this offer from His lips and follow it through to the end. Remember: everything is born small and then it grows.  Go slowly and steadily!

God uses as many as He calls for the work, but these people need preparation; otherwise, they will act guided by emotion and not by the Holy Spirit. What is born of the flesh is not good at all. Seize your opportunity and be the blessing envisioned by the Most High. He wants to change your life for the better!
