But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” Luke 8.8

Every Word of God sent to us must be received and examined with great care and attention, for it is completely and absolutely true. In it, there is not and will not be any risk of imperfection or uncertainty. According to the verse we are studying, the Word is the good seed that fell on good ground and, for this reason, produced fruit a hundredfold. Luke was authorized to register this information, and we are instructed to believe accordingly.

The evangelists Matthew and Mark said that this produce was majestic, including the good soil that produced thirty, sixty, and one hundredfold. Luke says that the seed, because it was born, produced fruit. Now, even where there was 30% and 60%, it did not diminish the greatness of the Lord’s work. All sowing follows a perfect planning, but if it is done out of season or without rain, the seed will not sprout. Following Jesus makes all the difference!

We can never decide where to send workers without first praying and receiving guidance from the Lord. Even if the field is the world, nothing can be done without divine guidance: I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing (John 15.5). Man cannot do whatever he wants in the work of God. Let this be a warning and a reason for us to be always under Heaven’s command!

After speaking of the success of the seed that fell on good soil, which means an immense return, the Lord called for everyone to listen: He who has ears to hear, let him hear. This statement shows what we have to do about our participation in the divine operation: listen, and pay attention. We will only achieve good results if we act as the Most High says. So let us be led by Him!

God’s voice continues crying out, but those unwilling to listen will never understand the message sent, and this is bad. We must be like Elijah, a resident of Gilead, who served the Lord faithfully. When God needed someone to rebuke the king of Israel, who was totally lost in error, He found the right person in this resident of a distant region of Samaria (1Kings 17.1)!

May the Most High find in you someone capable of carrying out a great mission! God knows whom to trust, for He knows the hearts, but we need to be steadfast in faith to do something important in the Father’s Kingdom. Those who don’t prepare themselves to live in Christ when He returns for His Church, besides staying here on Earth, will lose the privilege of being used and rewarded by God as Elijah was!

Live as if Jesus is coming back tonight. You will be shut out of the eternal wedding if He comes and does not find you with the oil in your lamp (Matthew 25.1-13). No member of the Kingdom of Heaven should be out of fellowship with God, because only those who are waiting for Him will go up with Christ. It is worth consecrating yourself to the Lord. Do it!

In Christ, with love,

Lord, Sower of the good seed! We need to radically change our lives, for if we are not well, the good seed will no longer produce as You wish. Father, may we be transformed into the good soil, where You will sow and reap the great harvest!

We want to have ears to hear You, to pay attention to Your plan, and to do what You desire for Your Kingdom to grow and receive many people snatched from the fire. The Kingdom is Yours, and we must not forget that. Let us be useful servants in the work!

When You needed a fearless and anointed man, You found Elijah in Gilead, a simple inhabitant and servant of Yours. May this happen to those who pray now! We don't know when You will look for someone for a noble mission. Find us, O God!
