For a mere moment I have forsaken you, But with great mercies I will gather you. Isaiah 54.7

In a fraction of a moment the saved are tempted and although they do not give in to sin, they are saddened and suffer a lot.  This is a good posture for it proves a love for God and respect for Him above all.  On the other hand, those who succumb to temptations and do not repent may be used by the evil one in a most sordid and wanton way.  Therefore, don’t ever allow temptation a place to abide in your heart nor accept it as something pleasurable.

We know not why we are subjected to terrible trials, but on the other hand we know that all things cooperate for the good of them that love God (Romans 8:28).  Besides, to love Christ is to have and to keep his commandments (John 14:21) and those who do this will obtain a daring and powerful faith.  This is the way that children of God must win: pleasing him.  Otherwise, allowing the devil to overcome you is to deny Jesus.

The period of trial may seem endless to us but to the Lord it is a mere fleeting moment.  The mistake is not in being tested, for most of the time this is not our responsibility.  But to neglect the Omnipotent is like inviting the devil to wreak havoc in your life.  Flee from sin, not to fall; pray for deliverance from temptations.

The verse topic of this devotional contains a marvelous message: God will father us up which means we will not always be exposed to the evil one.  We must be aware that we will be constantly going through trials, but we should never fall, for if we do and we don’t repent, we will suffer eternal damage.  The Bible says that whoever stands must take care not to fall. (1 Corinthians 10:12) therefore one can’t be too careful in moments of temptation.

To be left by God is to withdraw from the light and to walk in darkness; however since Jesus went to the gates of hell to overcome Satan, the divine light that indwells you will empower you to unmask the devil and his demons and recover the power  they stole from you. Do not wait any moment longer for if you pay attention to the enemy he will defeat you.  Take this opportunity and rise up in Jesus’ name, mend with the Lord and rebuke the tempter.

Rejoice!  The mercy of God used with compassion for you is eternal; reach out for His hand He extended to you and don’t let go.  This way you will become the blessing that He meant you to be.  Your future will be great in the Lord, for in Him you have strength and the authority to never allow Satan to use your life.  Rebuke the enemy and demand that he remove himself.

Never forget that Christ is your Redeemer and will never leave you in the hands of the enemy.  Believe in God’s love for you since it is true.  The decision you take will change your life forever; finally on becoming a child of God, you become co-heir in Christ (Romans 8:17)
