Then Israel shall dwell in safety, The fountain of Jacob alone, In a land of grain and new wine; His heavens shall also drop dew. Deuteronomy 33:28

By naming Israel to be His chosen people, God demanded that they live alone, because if they should mix with other people, certainly there would be contamination. Israel was a symbol of the Church that would be lifted up in the midst of humanity as people that were separate and special to the Almighty. However, we have to go to the ends of the world and extract people from there to make up the Body of Christ, always vigilant, so as not to be mixed and contaminated with the lost and their practices.

It was determined that the Church would be the place of habitation, the Fountain of Jacob. Have we really understood this? It doesn’t seem like it. There are a great number of Christians who do not value the blessings that the life and suffering of Jesus have assured and offered us. One instance of how we err is when there is sufficient money to pay for a medical treatment, or we decide that the problem is not that dangerous, and we forget to pray and rebuke the evil. What a tragedy!

In the same way, when there are resources to live well, but as we feel touched or directed by God to offer a quantity for missions, we pay no attention. Doesn’t this harm us? The Law was the symbol of the best Alliance that was sanctioned by the blood of Jesus, and in it all transgressions were dealt with severely. By the Fountain, Christ, we will lack nothing, and for this reason we will cooperate with the work of God.

The Hebrew patriarch had an endless Fountain which supplied all his needs. For this reason, the Church must never accept poverty or lack of resources, because if we live badly, how will we testify that Jesus brought us abundant life? Imagine! The Church of the Old Testament, a representation of the New Alliance, lived next to the Fountain of Jacob, but the church of grace does not recognize the fact that being the real church, she should live next to the Fountain of Life, the Redeemer!

In the land of the Gospel, there shall lack nothing for those who live according to the direction of the Word, but should there be lack of resources or power, we must go to the Father in prayer and seek help. After all, as it is written, Israel must live alone and secure next to the Fountain of Jacob. It was right next to the Fountain that Jesus said that there was a food unknown to the disciples, so He shunned that which they had taken. Undoubtedly, everything that we need is in the Scriptures.

The Gospel is the land of grain, where there is food, that prepares and strengthens us for battles, and wine, that lightens our heart to praise the Lord for all He promises and does for us. Therefore, no Christian must be conformed in not sharing the blessings, both spiritual and material. Without the power of this Fountain, we will not be enabled to fulfill the entire will of the Omniscient. It is not wise or good to ignore it, for He provided it for us!

As He promised the Israelites that he would give them Canaan, the Almighty said that it flowed with milk and honey – it was prosperous. Comparing that land with the Gospel the Lord said that man would meet all his needs for a good life in the Holy Word. Believe this and enjoy what the Father has provided for you.

In Christ, with love,

God of the Land of Promise! We live alone in the land of the Fountain of Jacob, and we live secure with God. Although evil tries to harm us, inventing lies concerning our position in Christ, he will be shamed by You. Halleluiah!

It is beautiful to know that the land is of grain and wine. This serves to make our hearts glad that we will never lack Bread for our spirit. By it we are strengthened in faith in Jesus and we can overcome the powers of evil that try to discourage us and separate us from Your presence. To You be the glory!

You say that the heavens will drop down dew over us, and we will harvest that which we have planted. With the vitality of Your anointment, the seed of what we have planted will thrive and we will thank You. It is wonderful to live only in You. Amen!
