Asa king of Judah knew of the work that his father had with Jeroboam. He had founded the kingdom of the North with the ten tribes that joined him, keeping the name of Israel (1 Kings 11:31). Only Judah and Benjamin remained, when Rehoboam, Asa´s grandfather, was still the ruler. However, Jeroboam made two calves of gold and commanded the people to worship them (1 Kings 12: 28-29), as if these had taken them out of Egypt. Sadly, Satan’s strategy was repeated in Judah.
Where the fear of God disappears, a desire for witchcraft and worship is born without the presence of the Lord; then problems arise. Asa was wise in ordering the withdrawal of idolatry from Judah. Free from high places, statues and groves dedicated to the strange gods, the people pleased the Most High, and the kingdom lived in peace. Divine favor appeared!
Any country, state or city, where the authorities have the courage to destroy the altars dedicated to the enemy, will be blessed by the hand of the Most High. Anyone who thinks that a witchcraft work will help later on, will see that he was deceived; after all, the devil is bad all the time. Give ear to the heavenly Father, for He is the only God. Whoever loves Him is loved by Him!
The cult to the enemy annoys the Lord because people voluntarily surrender themselves to the devil, who will destroy them. Thus, God’s wonderful plan becomes inoperative, and they will spend eternity in the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Revelation 20:14). However, the Most High is good and wishes the best for all people.
Asa acted correctly in the eyes of God, and because of that people in Judah were already seen with good purpose and prospering. Divine hand will always be with those who incline to good. Because He is the Creator and owner of everything, He desires all to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4). When we open our heart to the Lord, everything cooperates for our good, because we love Him (Romans 8:28).
When he understood how he should proceed before the Lord, the king saw Him operating in the midst of the people. So they had ten years of peace and progress. The same will happen with your family; it is necessary to just seek the will of the Most High. There is no need to be led astray by the liar and a father of lies (John 8:44), if you can have access to the Father of lights (James 1:17)!
The king had set a decree that everyone should seek the Lord, the God of his fathers, and they had to observe the Law and the commandment (2 Chronicles 14:4). By doing that, they opened the door for the Almighty to carry out His purpose among them, and that is what He did. The same decree closed the door to the devil. Anyone who stays neutral and uses their political relationship with others, for example, will find out that they behaved foolishly. To have God´s consent is better than to live in the sight of the wicked. Believe!

True God! We need Your help to do what is good and pleasing to Your eyes, for this is why we have come to Your Kingdom. The high and painful price paid by the Lord Jesus shows us how much we should love and obey You.
May we have the perception and strength of Asa to carry out Your will. Thus, we will glorify You. We must grow in understanding, so that our works may be accomplished in You and that we may obtain the victory.
We rely on Your Spirit, whose ministry is to glorify Your Son. Whatever is profitable to Your Kingdom should be our goal. So lead us through the Way, for what matters is that Jesus grows. Amen!
