Now King Herod heard of Him, for His name had become well known. And he said, “John the Baptist is risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him. Mark 6:14

Jesus began His ministry by using the power of God and shook Israel. The success was so great that many people from neighboring nations went to Him in search of healing and deliverance, and also brought sick and disturbed by unclean spirits, who were healed. In the beginning, Christ chose those who would learn from Him, and then be sent to do the work. They had the best Teacher of all time, God Himself.

There is no way for the Lord to deceive or be deceived. No doubt, if those who learned from Him exaggerated, they would be rebuked. We have the case reported in Mark 9:38: Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us.” Jesus said to them, “Do not forbid him……For he who is not against us is on our side” (v. 39,40). Christ will never be accused of not teaching His disciples properly.

The same thing happens today. The Lord’s teaching frees us from evil involvements and promotes us in faith in Jesus. The lack of knowledge of what belongs to you or what you can do in the Name of Jesus prevents you from being and having what God has planned. The Most High is not evil, nor will He deny any good to anyone who seeks His will. But without His help, you will never get to where He has planned.

Whoever learns from the Savior is soon sent to special missions. At the beginning of His ministry, He called individuals who would be used by the Father and prepared to fulfill such noble mission. Of those who accepted His invitation, Christ separated 12 men whom He called disciples and sent them two by two to the cities where He would minister later.

Jesus commanded them to heal the sick, and they did. Moreover, they anointed many sick with oil, and this is not in the order given by the Master; but  since they must have seen Him using the symbol of the Spirit of God, they copied Jesus, and in wonder saw the power from High give health to the sick (Mark 6:13). The anointing with oil is biblical. King Herod heard of these things and was startled, saying that Christ was John the Baptist, whom he had beheaded. Poor judgment!

There are more demons oppressing the people than we would like to believe. Where the Name of Jesus is invoked, they cannot remain hidden and they manifest. When they received the command to leave the oppressed, at the same moment, the people began to witness the deliverance they received. Thus, more people are encouraged to go to meetings of faith in order to be healed and freed from evil works, and convert themselves. Halleluiah!

This is the way out for the world today: talk about Jesus. Thus, the power of the Lord will begin to operate. It is not recorded that Jesus asked the disciples to anoint the sick with oil, but as they used this sacred element with faith, they brought forth the faith of many. Thus, in the twinkling of an eye, they testified of their own healing.
