10/02/2022 - LESS STRICTNESS FOR SODOM

And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!” Mark 6:11

The responsibility of the messenger announcing the Gospel is huge. If he is not received as an emissary of God, the act of shaking off the dust that is under his feet – will lead the Lord, on that Day, to have more tolerance with the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah than with the citizens of that city. Now, imagine if he is in sin and goes to preach the Word! What confusion he will create in the minds of those who have heard the Gospel through him!

The act of preaching the Good News is recorded in Heaven. However, when some rebels do not heed the command to preach, the entire region will be led into one of the worst judgments, in which tolerance will be greater for the cities that had suffered a pre-judgment, as fire and brimstone descend from heaven and consume the inhabitants of such an unrighteous place (Genesis 13:13). We must preach in holiness and anointing.

This brings us to the duty to always be and remain holy when we carry the message of salvation. One day, in every church in the world, there will be the last service in which the Word will be preached. It will be the last opportunity for the hearers to surrender to God and confess their sins. Whoever does not accept Christ will lose the chance to be saved. May we be found faithful to the Lord, snatching many from the eternal fire.

What will those who divided churches, leading so many into scandals, say when they come before the throne of the Almighty? They themselves will confess their wickedness, being solely responsible for every life that went astray and did not join the group of those who ascended to Heaven with Jesus. This is how the Bible described the Son of God at His return:  His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire (Revelation 1:14).

I believe that the Lord will not need to say anything, because as He looks at each one with eyes that are like a flame of fire, the person will confess their mistakes, but they will not be forgiven, for we go to judgment to receive the sentence for what we have done. And for those who have caused scandal, the sentence will be harsh: Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! (Luke 17:1).

The warning to evil workers came from the lips of the Savior: It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones (Luke 17:2). Why scandalize the work of God, if this should not even be done amongst sinners? After all, we were saved to glorify the Lord!

Get right with your heavenly Father, lest you be disqualified. There will be no forgiveness, love, or mercy at the Judgment. Now, Jesus is your Advocate, but on the Great Day – He will be your Judge!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

God of forgiveness and mercy! We come before You to confess our mistakes and to ask for Your forgiveness. We do not want to cause scandal in Your Church, nor among sinners, for we were saved to make Your light shine, not to disobey You!

Why is it that there are brothers who do not fear You, if they say they were saved by You? Why would anyone make a person turn away from the path, if the call he received from You was to rescue the lost, snatching away those who already had the death sentence upon them?

We plead for mercy, for many have let the deceitfulness of riches take over their hearts. For this reason, such people will be lost. For others, the cares of this world is their downfall, and there are those who go astray for foolish reasons. Mercy, Father!
