They shall neither hunger nor thirst, Neither heat nor sun shall strike them; For He who has mercy on them will lead them, Even by the springs of water He will guide them. Isaiah 49: 10

There is no reason to live sad, oppressed or desperate, fearing the future, because the Lord has provided what is necessary to serve Him with dignity. At the close of His creation, the Most High examined it and saw that it was good to give us shelter and nourishment. The wrong things arose because of the sin of Adam; but in the work of salvation everything has been redone and today there is complete safety to those who believe in Christ.

The saved will never hunger for the Word of God. The Lord was not wrong in saying this. However, if you cannot get its revelation, which is the food for your spirit, read the Bible. Undoubtedly, some passage will soon leap into your eyes, your heart will rejoice and you will find what you were looking for. As you meditate on the Scriptures, faith will come within you in no time. With faith, everything is possible!

There are people afflicted by the calm or the sun, but this is not true for us. Nothing can take away our peace or disturb us, because that is what the Word of the Lord declares. Therefore, if anything bothers you, pray to the Father and see His counsel concerning this. Then, when you understand it, accept it and rebuke the problem.

There was a time when I was bothered to be in Rio de Janeiro during the summer, because it is very hot. I preferred to preach in the capital of São Paulo, where temperature never surpassed 32 degrees at that time. But in the winter, I stayed in Rio de Janeiro, because the weather was milder. One day, I read in the Scriptures:  The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night (Psalm 121:6). So I prayed and told myself that that issue would never be a hindrance again, and so it was.

The Most High knows our entire frame and remembers that we are dust (Psalm 103: 14), unable to go unharmed by trials. When unpleasant situations are unbearable, we must open our hearts to God and ask for deliverance. Jesus taught this in the prayer called the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6: 13). He sympathizes with us and frees us from any misfortune (Psalm 103:13). Halleluiah!

The Lord’s solution comes from the Scriptures. According to the basic verse, He will guide us and lead us gently to the springs of waters – His Word. In it we find various statements of God on any subject concerning us. By opening the part that deals with our problem, He gives us access to the answer that will get us out of suffering.

In short, nothing will bother or oppress us. We will live quietly and peacefully, without worrying about tomorrow, which will take care of itself (Matthew 6:34). We will overcome every day, if we are in communion with the Most High. To Him be the glory!
