And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Acts 3:16

We need to understand: we have perfect health in God. In observing the biblical examples, we see that this was always His will for man. However, a people who fully lives the Word is still to emerge. Therefore, the enemy laughs at the Church of Christ, for its members present themselves as important, powerful and saved people, but, in fact, they are empty of power and fulfillment!

Jesus drew a parallel between Him and the thief in speaking of His coming and that of the devil. In John 10, verse 10, we read:  “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”. Many people, however, refuse salvation because when they see Christians full of problems, ills, and diseases, they are not convinced that the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven is the Truth. Mercy!

In the Old Testament, it is clear that no sickness would come upon God’s people, provided they fulfilled four conditions: listened attentively to the voice of the Lord, act righteously in the eyes of God, pay heed to His commandments, and keep His statutes, for He is the Lord that heals (Exodus 15:26). Why did He stop being this Lord who took pleasure in healing all? Are we doing His will? Certainly not!

Peter found Aeneas, a brother in Christ, lying in bed for eight years (Acts 9:33). The Scriptures do not record that the disciple prayed for him, but gave him the true message of the heavenly will, saying that Jesus gave him health (verse 34). Thus Aeneas rose up healed, and this revived the group of brothers of the local church. We should see this kind of ministry today! Where are those who are consecrated to the Lord to do this?

The same Peter states in his letter: who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose ]stripes you were healed (1 Peter 2:24). Is it absurd to believe that through the wounds of Jesus people would be healed? But the Bible declares this. So why do we try to make up excuses for not believing God to be true and good?

David understood that the servants of the Lord should live free from health issues, stating that everything in him was to bless God (Psalm 103: 1). He then affirmed that his soul should not forget any of His benefits, for the Most High forgave him of all sins and healed him of infirmities. Would it be fanaticism to say David´s same statement?

When the Almighty took the Old Testament church out of Egypt, there were no sick people in the tribes of Israel (Psalm 105:37) – and the Hebrews were more than three million people. The error lies in not believing that the Name of Jesus strengthens us and that faith, coming through Jesus, gives us perfect health (Acts 3:16).
