Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.  Mark 6:5

We are not always able to fulfill our desires, even if we are sinless in our heart. The unpreparedness about how we should act is great. No matter how hard we try to learn how to spiritually do the right thing, only with the help of the Holy Spirit will we be able to imitate the Master:  I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing (John 15:5). He is our Strength!

Jesus was the express image of the Father. The seed that generated Him did not come from man, but from His nature, which, by the work of the Holy Spirit, made Mary conceive Him: who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high (Hebrews 1:3). He is God with the Father!

The lack of attention to the Word also prevents us from carrying out God’s plan. As a result, we suffer the enemy’s attacks and endure a series of defeats. However, when we learn any revelation from the Scriptures and determine that it is real in us, we realize that we are not on the losing side, because the power from On High works in us. The revelations of the Word must be taken hold of. 

God is our Shield, provided we accept His protection (Psalm 7:10). If we neglect biblical reading, we will not have the Word revealed to our heart. Thus, nothing that the Lord proposes to do for us will come true. It is a mistake not to credit God with the understanding given to us in the Scriptures. All that the Father desires to do on behalf of those who trust in Him is registered in it. Be grateful and obedient, and you will see the Lord at work.

Christ healed a few sick people by His own faith and willingness, but this is not what He would have wanted to do among the people with whom He had lived. In Nazareth, He could have put an end to the suffering of them all, but their unbelief prevented Him from acting. This has also happened to the saved. We are servants of the Lord, so we must believe in Him.

Laying on of hands is like an extreme measure of self-effort to give the sick divine help. The good thing is when the heart receives the Word with joy; then, at that moment, your problem will be solved. God is what He says He is and keeps His promises. There is no way for the enemy to stop the Lord from blessing your life. Only those who believe will be blessed.

How many times has God wanted to grace you with wonderful things, but could only work a few healings because of unbelief in your heart? So, the days go by, and you don’t realize how much you have lost, nor do you wonder why He doesn’t bless you as He declared. Well, we have been just as bad as the Nazarenes who prevented Christ from blessing them!
