Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root will be as rottenness, and their blossom will ascend like dust; because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 5.24

The nation of Judah was supposed to be the example of what other nations could have from the Lord. However, by choosing sin, its inhabitants equaled the most reprobate peoples. Therefore, the Most High had to allow the Babylonians to take His people to suffer in captivity, which, no doubt, was worse than that of Egypt. They were taken out of Egypt to reign with God, but their appetite for the wrong things led them to worse suffering.

Unfortunately, we have seen this happen with many saved people, who have not lived up to the benefit received from the Lord. Why, after tasting God’s grace, did they let themselves be led by sensuality, falling into Satan’s hands? Amazingly, many Christians don’t believe in the warnings of the Word. The devil only has to show them a little bit of the sinful life, and they get into it and get lost. Pray!

The vows of holiness, faithfulness and love for God of many are like the straw that the fire consumes. What is worse is that they already assume that they will not go to Heaven, unless the Judgment is not as the Word says. Now, such people play with fire. Those who think like that will suffer for ever and ever. Whoever hides his transgressions will never prosper in faith and in the knowledge of God (Proverbs 28.13). Ask for mercy!

Make sure that your faith is like dry grass, which will crumble with the flame of trial that will come upon everyone. If faith has come from Heaven, you will not fall for the lies of the devil, but will resist even to the point of blood if necessary. We are talking about the eternal existence of our spirit, which will be either in the Heaven of light or in Hell of darkness. Prepare to meet the Creator while still alive by consecrating yourself to Him (Amos 4.12).

Those who give themselves over to error have rotten, worthless roots. Then, even though they realize their condition, they will experience grief and pain if they do not get right with Christ – what they had already obtained in their days of faithfulness to God. The fact of rejecting what the Father has set Himself to do for them will become nothing. Whoever has divine love will never fall for the lies of the tempter, for he will not reject the law of the Lord of hosts.

Even if you confess to be from God, you become a renegade when you forget the Lord when you are tempted. Spiritual matters are more real and more serious than material things. So run back to the arms of the Most High, and you will escape the wrath that will come upon the face of the Earth. Jesus paid such a high price, but many don’t even care about the procedure that the Lord expects from those marked to go to Heaven.

Don’t let your flowers wilt, or your dreams and desires to live next to Jesus fade away. Don’t for a second despise the Holy One of Israel, who alone went to Hell and overcame death in your place. Be wise and confess your sins to God. Be vigilant!
