Saul was convinced by the Savior Himself of his need to get right with God and receive forgiveness for his sins. Afterwards, he entered into a faith battle to get rid of his errors. He loved the Lord, but in a crooked way, and he realized that his actions bound him to the goads – sticks used by the Almighty for him to forsake him wrong attitudes (Actions 9:5).
Many times, the Most High has to allow some thorns along our way in order to guide us. Obviously, we don´t like to be fustigated, but its for our own good. Now, Paul wanted to get rid of everything that bothered him and so he did like Esther when facing imminent destruction of her people. Hallelujah!
This happened in the Persian kingdom, which succeeded the Babylonian kingdom in the world hegemony. For nothing, a man called Haman nurtured such hatred for the Jews – Abraham´s descendants – and wanted to obliterate them. When the sentence was signed by king Ahasuerus, Esther discovered that such sentence could not be revoked. So, she understood that the only way out was to call her fellow countryman to fast for three days (Esther 4:16), and they were delivered!
When king Jehoshaphat heard that a confederation of nations had formed against Jerusalem, he called Judah to come to the holy city. After they fasted, God spoke through Jahaziel the Levite on how what they should do to get rid of the enemies. Next, without a single Israeli soldier waging war, they saw their enemies destroy each other (2 Chronicles 20:1-30). When there is no way out, fast and pray!
Saul had prepared himself to serve God. He was taught by Gamaliel, a great teacher, but he hadn´t learned at the feet of the true Master. Therefore, he was fighting in the wrong way. Now that he had seen the glory from on High, and the Savior had revealed him His character, granting him mercy, love and forgiveness, he had to get rid of his past. For three days, he didn’t eat or drink anything, but he opened his heart to the Lord.
Every saved person knows they have wronged a lot in their life. Those who lived far from God have done a lot of things against His will. So, after he converted, Saul had to seek the Lord, hungry and thirsty for the Truth. Now, if you do the same, it will be so beneficial to you. But remember: the enemy will do all he can for you not to seek the One who can give you abundant life (John 10:10).
Go to the Father´s house as many times you think is necessary so that you can be freed from what is preventing you from having a good relationship with Him. If another person has already found Him, so will you. God will give you a lot of important things, as long as you take possession of those who have already been spoken over you. Let Christ be your Master!
In Christ, with love,

Oh God! You are the Shepherd of all those who convert to You. Therefore, we need to seek You wholeheartedly. We no longer want the enemy guiding our life. We want to be right next to You.
Esther managed to annul the decree that set the day and hour for the extermination of the Jews. Your will prevailed over them; thus, Esther and Your people were spared. Listen to this person that prays with me, who wants to be delivered!
We know we don’t have to imitate Paul and fast for three days, but we want to do what You teach us through the Word. After all, You watch over those who go to You and accept Your invitation. We cry for love and mercy!
and Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.
