He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates friends.   Proverbs 17:9

When the Lord makes you know something wrong someone has done, don’t be the gossiper that likes to spread the bad news so that they person can be seen as someone who is not qualified. This morbid pleasure must never come into your heart. In a situation like this, first pray so that you receive the Father´s direction. Then, with wisdom from High, seek the person who is in error, tell them what you know and heard about, and with love, rebuke them in the Word. 

However, when you go seek the person who fell, be aware not to come out of the presence of God, for what the person says can become a snare to you. Evil is pernicious to the point of contaminating the most holy one of the sons of God. Do not go deep in details, and even if it is necessary, be vigilant and pray so that you don’t go into temptation. Remember that in all times, our garments must be clean, with no stains from the enemy. 

Another important factor is not to act in an authoritarian manner, because such attitude can be a blow to the person who fell and even to you. All we do must be in accordance to the Word, but in the spirit of the New Testament. Think about the times you almost fell, or when you did fall. For this reason, with gentleness and tenderness, bring the person who was not vigilant to reason and love of God. It is important to never live away from the Scriptures. 

The instruction to cover the errors was given under the Law – according to which the sins where “covered” with the blood of animals – , once Jesus had still not come and died on the cross. However, with the death of the Savior, the transgressions were undone and washed in His blood. Thus, people were able to receive their remission. Complete forgiveness is available to those that take hold of what the Lord did on Calvary. Therefore, lead the person to receive forgiveness and be loved by God. 

The purpose of the Christian must be to lead those who are in error to have communion with the Lord and not to lead them to defeat, for they are already in that condition. Thus, you will be pleasing a lot the One who wants the best for all people. The Father works to save lives and not to set people into the eternal fire. He will only do that on the last day with those that refuse to live the Truth. Therefore, be a valuable worker, leading many others to repentance and salvation. 

Once again, I warn you to be vigilant towards the works of the evil one, for he will do all he can to tempt you so that you gossip to others about people’s lives. Even if someone is your confidant, in the end you will have separated best friends. So, do not allow the error of one person to separate you from the truthful friendships; be firm in your work, do not give in to any of Satan´s moves. If something is revealed to you, act just like the Lord would. 

 

We are called to unite people and lead the lost to communion. If we do so, we will be fulfilling one of the missions we were entrusted with. Therefore, continue to do what was told you, and do not deviate, even if you receive other assignments. Never judge the importance of the tasks by your conveniences.
