I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34.4

David felt in his heart that he should seek the Lord to solve the situations that anguished him, and he was successful. Thus, the holy God ordered him to write in summary what happened to him. David did so on this Psalm. He did not have to give more detail, because every person who read his story would only know how things happened, and not the detailed account, since every person has their own needs and problems.

Those who ask God for guidance to be delivered from their sufferings will also be successful. After all, the Lord promised that the one who seeks Him with all of his heart will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). However, one must prepare for this, as did Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, of whom the Lord said good things (2 Chronicles 19:3). Besides removing the places of idolatry where the people sinned, this king sought the Most High and was victorious.

When Jehoshaphat heard that a great multitude was coming against him, he feared and cried out to the Most High, proclaiming a fast. Stories such as these show God’s guidance on difficult situations. Those who cry out to the Most High will see that the storm coming against them will change direction, or that it will simply be destroyed by the power of our God.

Maybe you belong to a family in which the Lord is not invoked or worshiped. However, if you understood the Word, you no longer have anything to do with the sinful works of those around you. Thus, do like Uzziah, king of Judah, who approached the Most High in the days of Zechariah, a wise man who had God’s visions (2 Chronicles 26:5). Look out for people who God is using and reach out to Him. Then, He will make you prosper. Halleluiah!

As you learn from God, you will feel what you must do before Him – what is good, righteous and true. As you follow His guidance, consider as your aim to seek the Omnipotent with all of your heart. Then, you will be considered someone who God made prosperous because you sought the Lord. Another example was King Hezekiah, when he challenged Sennacherib, a powerful king of Assyria, and defeated him.

There was a prophecy about a boy that would be born in the house of David. A long time had passed since it was made – 336 years, and Josiah came to do something special. He was the promised person, and in the eight year of his reign, when he was only 16 years old, he sought the God of David. Four years later, he began to purify his country from the places and objects of witchcraft. He was successful because he respected the Lord.

Ezra had an important role in the rebuilding of Israel. He had prepared himself to fulfill the Law of the Lord and teach the people the divine statutes. As a result, he accomplished his mission. What will be said about you? Will you let the enemy stop you from being and doing what you have been ordered to do?

In Christ, with love,

Lord! You have called us to do Your will, and therefore, You have made us part of Your Body. We are responsible for Your work. Therefore, we must fulfil what Heaven defined that we should do. Help us, Lord!

We want to receive the gift of seeking and finding You. As our brethren in the Old Testament did, we also want to be successful in these times of deception and works of the kingdom of darkness. We want to fulfill the mission You have given us.

You have chosen us in Christ to be Your servants. The message of the cross must be preached in the four corners of the world. Thus, the lost will find in You the Truth. They will have their eyes opened and will be victorious. Thank You!
