Alas, sinful nation, A people laden with iniquity, A brood of evildoers, Children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the Lord, They have provoked to anger The Holy One of Israel, They have turned away backward. Isaiah 1:4

The children of Israel committed several transgressions, so they were forsaken. No one can make a mistake and then think that there will be no punishment. Those who did what Scripture condemns, in the next second after accepting Jesus’ salvation, should seek out those they have offended and settle with him. Thus, they will be able to get rid of problems. It would be good if all the citizens of the country also did this. God is good!

There is not even one righteous person, but that is no excuse for someone to sin. The Israelites abused the Lord’s patience and, as a result, were known as the people charged with iniquity instead of good works. Now, they knew divine mercy. Likewise, the church should be filled with the good examples left by Jesus, seeking to do good everywhere and healing the oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38).

God’s wrath was about to be poured out on those who were called by His Name. Led by the Spirit of God, the prophet called them a people charged with the iniquity of the seed of evildoers. See how they fell from the position of children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! From good and pure seed to evil! This serves as a warning to people who surrender to sin, thinking that it makes no difference. They will also receive this sad qualification!

The Israelites were not only corrupted, but they became corrupt children. They went too far! The sadness they have caused the Lord is no less than what many are causing today. Whoever has strayed from the Way must return to Christ’s feet. In this way, divine wrath will not be ignited against him. Be holy, because He is holy (1 Pet. 1:16)!

Whoever abandons the heavenly Father leaves life and will undoubtedly experience how bad it is to leave the good side to walk the paths of destruction. Never allow it to be written about you. Jeremiah said the Israelites made two mistakes: they left the Fountain of Living Water and dug out broken cisterns unable to retain water. Unhappy of him who leaves the Source of life. For this, there will be days of pain and tightness.

In addition to everything they practiced, the Israelites had the courage to blaspheme the Holy One of Israel. God had sanctified Himself, separated, in order to be the Protector of the children of Jacob, but they simply did not want to walk with Him anymore. Whoever does this is irresponsible and makes all his own remain in the hands of the evil one. The priests of the Almighty should never do that!

Finally, when they saw the universe of promises about them, instead of loving the Lord, they preferred to be equal to those who were far from the Truth. How to understand such folly? Watch out, the devil still tries! Have mercy!

In Christ, with love,

God, our Protector! Why did the Israelites make the decision to turn away from You and look for the enemy? They certainly did not measure the consequences of their wicked acts. Look, Father, for those who have also done wrong!

We do not want or accept that this will happen to us. We ask for Your safety! Never walk away from us. You are our only God! We cannot live far from your love and help.

Let none of the negative titles that the Israelites have received be the label with which they will know us. We plead for Your mercy today, tomorrow and forever. We aim to be Your faithful servants, fulfilling Your work and Your friends!
