Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands. Psalm 104:3

No servant of God should fear persecution but face it with good cheer and faith in the Lord. When trials come, don’t stop working, because He will deliver you in the right moment. Many times, if the Father calls us to serve Him with our lives, giving all we have for the love of Christ, we will have to be brave. Like Polycarp, bishop of Smyrna, we must confess that we will never deny the One who loved and saved us.

The secret is to seek from the Lord how to proceed during persecution. Afterall, His instructions are the best. That doesn’t mean that everybody will face very hard moments, but we shouldn’t be led by the threats of the devil. Whatever the evil one speaks shouldn’t be taken in consideration, but only what the Most High says. We haven’t been given the spirit of fear, but of trust in the Lord. He is wise and powerful!

Speak with boldness, because you are announcing the good news of the Lord! Never accommodate or hide the message He has given you. To speak of the Lord is to speak of the solution, of the One who can and who wants to change your life for the better. God will do that according to the faith that you apply from His Word. Some people will only listen to you when they see you acting boldly in the most challenging moments.

The response of the Lord came with the good testimony He gave. By the hands of Paul, many signs and wonders happened. Who can say the Lord isn’t beside them if He is using them to operate His will? Stand firm in your faith and allow the Father to always be beside you, confirming the preaching of the Gospel with signs and wonders. God is the only one with power to deliver us even from the furnace that was heated seven times stronger. He is faithful!

The two apostles were bold and weren’t afraid of the persecution that was threatening them from all sides. They were unshakable and fulfilled their mission. From their hands flowed power to heal the sick, set the captives free and give hope to those who were dying. In everything, their lives were an example of love and goodness to all those who suffered; so how would their exactors fear? Hallelujah!

To believe in the Gospel of the Lord’s supernatural operation and to promote it is the duty of all those who have been placed in ministry. Jesus affirmed: “he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do (John 14:12). In a certain way, we are continuing the work initiated by Jesus. He preached the Word, telling the people to believe in the Good News, and that’s what He recommended us to do everywhere He sends us!

Every Christian should know that being afraid isn’t a condition of sons of God. He hasn’t given us a spirit of fear so we would be subject to the forces of evil, but instead, a spirit of power, moderation and strength (2 Timothy 1:7). To Him be the glory!

In Christ, with love,

Dr. Soares

Lord of signs and wonders! Persecution was increasing, but the love of those serving also increased, and it proved that Jesus is the only solution. Those serving You paid a high price so they’d offer the lost ones the opportunity of being saved! Thank You for loving us!

We shouldn’t bow before any forces of darkness, but instead, be ready to fulfill with praise the mission You have given us, even if we have to suffer for that. Today, we want to renew our vows of walking before You with love and joy.

Whenever it is necessary, help us to speak boldly of You. Remind us that our faith shouldn’t bow before difficulties and we shouldn’t walk away from the truth even when threatened. You are our reason to live and to preach the truth. Beloved Father, be glorified!
