But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Matthew 3:7

When God makes you watch someone, or a group of people, He will speak to your heart. So get ready and obey this command, because nothing He says to you is by chance. Certainly, there is a very specific purpose. The Lord is not like some people who talk away. He has purpose with His work. Whoever listens to the Most High will avoid many evils in life.

Just as Pharisees and Sadducees came to John the Baptist to be baptized, and he rebuked them, so many people approach us today to join the church and do what they say they feel about God. However, they did not understand that this is still for the future. Whether it is baptism, ordination to ministry, or another desire, never give your yes without consulting the Lord. Samuel was wrong to do this at Jesse’s house!

The Pharisees were strict in their doctrine, true fanatics who failed to greet those who were not part of their group. Surely the Lord did not expect this from them, but a humble and holy attitude to win the lost. Never be carried away by the enemy’s lies, but face his onslaught with the Word, which says that Jesus has given us authority over evil.

The Sadducees were another group in Israel that did not go well with Jesus. They did not believe in the existence of soul, angels or demons. We may classify them as people who called the Lord a liar, because he who does not believe in God made a liar did so (1 John 5:10). It is a great mistake to disrespect the Word, but that is what the Sadducees did when they believed in their interests. Why, God never exaggerated His statements or said anything wrong.

In our day, various religious groups “sliced” God’s revelation in Scripture. Some claim, “The days of miracles is past,” referring to the healings wrought by the Lord, calling them false or the enemy. Where is this written in the Bible? They are taking something from the revelation, and that is bad. Now the greatest of all miracles is the salvation and consequent regeneration of the lost, and in this they believe.

These heresies exist because of people without due care when searching the Bible. Because they have no answer to certain questions, they simply twist some parts of the Word and make it their doctrines. Jesus declared that scandals would be unavoidable, but the poor one by whom they came (Luke 17:1). The point is not to have preconceived ideas about some point of Holy Scripture, but to examine it carefully.

John the Baptist called the Pharisees and Sadducees the race of vipers, showing that because they had distorted the Scriptures, they were destined for the wrath to come. Stay away from biblical distortions, because they are works of the filthy spirits of Hell.

In Christ, with love,

Lord! We want to know You as you are, the pure and total Truth. We wish to remain in Your ways, without entering the religious and evil maze that separates us from You. Have mercy on us and help!

We have seen that the spirit of the Pharisees continues to act everywhere, leading the simple to take positions contrary to Thy will. Surround us, Father, may we not fall into error.

Sadducees are also present, presenting their doctrines that condemn the existence of angels and demons. Jesus taught us to cast out demons and undo all the devil's work. Therefore, deliver us from this theological lie. We love you!
