Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.” John 12:28

Glorifying the Lord should be our purpose in everything we do in the Name of Jesus. This is exactly what He said in John 14.13: And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. The Name of God is that of Jesus, for He and the Father are one. Through it, we cast  out evil spirits. It is our mission to glorify the Most High.

Notice that David, when he went to fight the giant, did not cry or cry out to God, but was firm and convinced that he would win. When you fight your enemy, before leaving for battle, pray and meditate until you feel in communion with the Creator. So, confess that you will win the fight. If, when you pray and meditate, you don’t feel faith pulsing in your spirit, pray and meditate more to be victorious.

Our prayers, in the Name of Christ, will be carried out. If the motive is to give glory to the Name that is above all names, and you have the testimony of faith that the Almighty will give you victory, determine it according to the Word. Don’t even think about going back! However, if you disobey the Lord, you may be defeated. Intrepidity is a sign that God is at your side.

Faced with the Jews who were arguing with Jesus about the fact that He claimed to be the Son of God (that was to say that He was also God – and, in fact, it is true), Christ asked the Father to glorify His Name and obtained the answer immediately. Whoever walks with God is always prepared. Before the people, we must not play the humble and begin to cry out to the Most High to do the work, but to determine His will.

What is surprising is that, this time, the answer was not to the heart of Christ, but heard by all. The voice from heaven was a sign for those who were there – believers and Jews who still do not believe in the Lord. Notice that Jesus did not pray for the Father to speak audibly, but the Most High did so anyway. Never act before the people to “force” the Lord to do something, because nothing that He has not promised will be done. Whoever dares such boldness will be ashamed. Watch!

If we ask for something similar, will God answer us that way? The Master said that he would do nothing if he did not see the Father do. This means that even His prayers came from Heaven. The Creator is unlimited and does what He wants to know for sure. However, he will never respond to man, if his request does not proceed from the heart of God. Being in Christ and His words, in you, nothing will be denied to you.

The response received by Christ was that His Father had already glorified Him and would do it again, but, as we have seen, the Son did the works of God. Let us do what He told us to do. Then, whatever is necessary for victory will be done for us. Don’t get in the way of the Lord’s plans!

In Christ, with love,

Father! Glorify Your Name! We want to act like Jesus: facing our submission according to Your will. Help us to be in Christ and to keep His words. If we carry out Your orders, our prayers will have an answer.

Whoever heard Your voice said that an angel had spoken to the Master. We need Heaven's help to talk about You and people to understand. And if anything is ever needed, you will provide it. How good it is to walk with you!

Listen to our requests, although we often do not know how to pronounce them. But You are Omniscient. So it gives us much more than what we ask or think. May Your Name be glorified in everything! It is in Your Name that we pray. Amen!
